A short shuttle bus ride takes visitors from the visitor centre to the Causeway.

The Giant Causeway was to be a highlight of this trip. Although we were prepared for rain in Ireland, and were lucky that we had good weather, it was the only day during the trip that rained. It did not just rain; it poured. Three quarters of my photos show large water marks despite using hood and cover protection for my camera. Interestingly, photos taken with a cell phone fared much better presumably because the lens area is much smaller.

a wonderful place...fly easyjet to nantes atlantique...hop the shuttlebus, and relax in the sun and eat sweet or savoury crepes!

The upper canyon is only accessed by shuttle in the buzy months

May 15, 2019 - Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor's Center located at 5607 County Road C, Spring Green, WI 53588. "All tours of the Taliesin estate beautifully begin and end at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017. This structurally novel bridge-like design spanning two hills beside the Wisconsin River was designed by Wright as the “Riverview Terrace” to serve as a modern fine dining restaurant for travelers and locals alike, and be a gateway to visiting Taliesin. It opened as a restaurant in 1967 called The Spring Green after construction was interrupted by Wright’s death eight years earlier when it was already well underway, and is fondly remembered for its exquisite Wisconsin River views and elegant cocktails. The bar area was expanded by Taliesin Associated Architects in 1969. The uses of the structure were expanded after Taliesin Preservation was formed in 1990." Grand Canyon National Park, Powell Point lookout. The Battleship Butte can be seen from here.

Powell Point is another narrow spur along the West Rim Drive, on which is built a granite memorial to John Wesley Powell, erected to commemorate his two groundbreaking explorations of the Colorado River in 1869 and 1872. The point is only a 10 minute walk through the pine woods from the next lookout, so many people hike rather than wait for the next shuttlebus. The river is not in view since it flows deep within its inner granite gorge.

The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona in the United States. The Grand Canyon is 446 km long, up to 29 km wide and up to 1,800 meters deep. Nearly two billion years of Earth's geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. Recent evidence suggests that the Colorado River established its course through the canyon at least 17 million years ago. Since that time, the Colorado River continued to erode and form the canyon to its present-day configuration.

We visited the Grand Canyon on June 29, 2008. We started the visit on the South Rim, and visited several lookouts by car, by foot, and even by shuttle, before driving four hours (300km) to the North Rim.

2008. június 29-én látogattunk el a Grand Canyonba Délnyugati autós körutunk során. Délelőtt a déli oldalon jártuk sorra a kilátópontokat, autóval, gyalog, sőt a park buszával is, majd 4 óra vezetés és 300 km megtétele után naplementére átértünk az északi oldalra.

Mac the Knife had one of the most complicated surfaces with which to work on. Bravo fellas, you did a great job.
