I have shown you many boats that are found on the backwaters. Early one morning ,I left the large house boat I was on and gingerly and carefully lowered myself into a canoe to greet the sunrise.

No I wasn't rowing like the lovely ladies of the lake who do it as part of their every day life. In fact, the captain of the house boat who was rowing, seemed a little miffed that I insisted on exploring the canals by canoe.

The sunrises and sunsets throughout India when I was there were not very intense and light came and went like a whisper.

Fifth instar shown here. Adult is overall dull green with red or black eyes. Can be found in gardens, parks, allotments and waste ground feeding on plants that will include tomatoes and runner beans. This species of shiedlbug was accidentally imported in fruit and vegetables and is a relative newcomer in the UK fauna and was first recorded breeding in London in 2003. Rare at present but may easily spread. Native to Ethiopia and most likely to be seen in the UK from Mat to September.

The Yellow-backed Oriole is well-named, as it is one of the very few species of orioles with a yellow back. Indeed, this oriole shows only two colors, yellow and black: the wings are entirely black, the feathers lacking the white or yellow feather margins that are shown by most other species of oriole.

The Yellow-backed Oriole has an oddly discontinuous distribution: it occurs from southern Mexico south to northeastern Nicaragua, and again from Panama south to northern Colombia and Venezuela, but is absent from Costa Rica and from most of Nicaragua. This oriole has a very broad elevational range, ranging up to 2500 m in Central America and almost to 2700 m in Colombia.

Plas Brondawn, the home of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect of the village Portmeirion, there is an extensive collection of Hydrangeas. These blue ones match the blue he used to paint gates and banisters, as shown in my previos photo.

I previously have shown this as a vertical image. I received suggestions that it may be better as a horizontal. After cropping, I used Photoshop's Enhance to increase resolution, followed by Topaz De-noise AI and Topaz Sharpen AI.

This photograph was taken on October 1, 2022, shortly after 7:00 a.m. on a rail siding in Edon, Ohio. The engine crew told me that they brought the engine onto this siding around midnight. They stayed with the engine all night to tend the fire box and keep the steam up in order to be ready for the all-day trip. On this particular day, the train carried over 380 passengers, running from Edon, Ohio to Hillsdale, Michigan.

A replica of one of the three ships that Christopher Columbus led to the Americas in 1492, the Nao Santa Maria is one of nearly a dozen vessels that are part of the 2019 Tall Ship Celebration this weekend in Bay City, Michigan. It is shown here approaching Bay City on the Saginaw River last Thursday, and was processed in a vintage style for Sliders Sunday. Unfortunately, it wasn't under sail when photographed, and yes, I realize that the occupants aren't exactly wearing period clothing either. Oh well. :-)

show one more time the beauties of the Atlantic Forest.

I discover yesterday that I have many photos of some beautiful birds found in the Atlantic Forest. I already shown you all these birds in another similar photos, but now they are my alternative because I think that I'll be inside my house for much more time than these ninety days completed today.

The rich flora and fauna of the Atlantic Forest is worldwide known. Fortunately I had some opportunities to visit a hotel in a little part in the Itatiaia National Park, located near the border of three Brazilian states: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais.

Here two photos of the Blue Dacnis ( Dacnis cayana) known in Brazil as Saí Azul.

As the hotel is located very high in the park, in the heart of this part of the forest, the weather conditions change almost all the time. Sometimes is very difficult to photograph the birds because of the mist and the distance that many of them are.

In the other hand, they are constantly fed by the owner of the hotel with fresh fruits ( papaya, banana, melon, watermelon), so most of them are very friendly and come closer of the people inside the restaurant of the hotel, but the light there is not the best to photograph such lovely but frenetic creatures.

Many photos don't have a proper focus or have too much noise.

Despite of this I hope you enjoy them.

The Hagen Open-air Museum (LWL-Freilichtmuseum Hagen – Westfälisches Landesmuseum für Handwerk und Technik; English: "LWL Open-air Museum Hagen – Westphalian State Museum for Craft and Technics") is a museum at Hagen in the southeastern Ruhr area, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was founded, together with the Detmold Open-air Museum, in 1960, and was first opened to the public in the early 1970s. The museum is run by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL, regional authority for Westphalia and Lippe within North Rhine-Westphalia). It lies in the Hagen neighbourhood of Selbecke south of Eilpe in the Mäckingerbach valley.

The open-air museum brings a bit of skilled-trade history into the present, and it takes a hands-on approach. On its grounds stretching for about 42 ha, not only are urban and rural trades simply "displayed" along with their workshops and tools, but in more than twenty of the nearly sixty rebuilt workshops, they are still practised, and interested visitors can, sometimes by themselves, take part in the production.

As early as the 1920s, there were efforts by a group of engineers and historical preservationists to preserve technological monuments for posterity. The initiator, Wilhelm Claas, even suggested the Mäckingerbach valley as a good place for a museum to that end. The narrow valley was chosen, as wind, water and wood were the three most important location factors for industry in the 18th and 19th centuries.

In 1960, the Westphalian Open-Air Museum was founded, and thirteen years later, the gates opened to the public. Unlike most open-air museums, which show everyday life on the farm or in the country as it was in days gone by, the Hagen Open-Air Museum puts the history of these activities in Westphalia in the fore. From the late 18th century through the early years of the Industrial Revolution to the highly industrialized society emerging in the early 20th century, the visitor can experience the development of these trades and the industry in the region.

Crafts and trades demonstrated at the Westphalian Open-Air Museum include ropemaking, smithing, brewing, baking, tanning, printing, milling, papermaking, and much more. A favourite attraction is the triphammer workshop shown in the image above. Once the hammer is engaged, a craftsman goes to work noisily forging a scythe, passing it between the hammer and the anvil underneath in a process called peening.

The Hagen Westphalian Open-Air Museum is open from March or April until October.
