A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.

Crucifix Orchid in late afternoon sun following yet another shower. In my Gold Coast hinterland home garden.
Our daughter, granddaughter and friends went to Byland Abbey on the North York Moors to see the meteor shower. This was taken about 1am by Francesca. The lights on the abbey went off at midnight so they were in total darkness relying on torches to find way back to their car!!! Byland Abbey is an English Heritage site. A little sliding so we could see them!!!
A changeable day often leads to beautiful sunsets. Taken on a tripod - just a single frame. Wide angle 16-36 adapted onto the Canon R5. Struggled a bit with composition and the sun is a bit central for my liking - but the tramlines created greated FG interest so allowed them to take precedence. F13 to star the sun.
Winter has arrived across the Twin Cities with multiple rounds of snow showers bringing a few inches of accumulation.
Someties approaching rain showers can be spotted miles away... as was this case in the mountains of Utah.

Drying sunflowers in my garden that I lopped the tops. I have always thought that they resemble shower heads. It was fun arranging and photographing them. HSS!
