Nelumbo nucifera, also known as Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, or simply lotus, is one of two species of aquatic plant in the family Nelumbonaceae. The Linnaean binomial Nelumbo nucifera (Gaertn.) is the currently recognized name for this species, which has been classified under the former names, Nelumbium speciosum (Willd.) and Nymphaea nelumbo, among others. (These names are obsolete synonyms and should be avoided in current works.) This plant is an aquatic perennial. Under favorable circumstances its seeds may remain viable for many years, with the oldest recorded lotus germination being from that of seeds 1,300 years old recovered from a dry lakebed in northeastern China.

Native to Tropical Asia and Queensland, Australia, it is commonly cultivated in water gardens. It is also the national flower of India and Vietnam.

Black-shouldered Kite

≠==================≠

This is a juvenile Black-shouldered Kite most of its rich orange baby feathers have now faded. Just a tinge or two left. It was willing to show of those hard working wing feathers in full display.

spotted this Sister selling EENY EYEWEAR--up in Harlem. She suggested this pair for me--what do you think?

Her shades--she termed "Third-Eye"

Should have warned you which way I would go

Took me years just to flow like I flow

Give me progress that can't be delayed

Got me thinking that's all I can say

Under The Influence Of Giants - "Ah Ha" (Listen to it here)

I've been tagged by my Flickr friend songglod! So here, in no particular order or direction, is a bit more about me:

For those of you who missed my first tagging by flickrfanmk2007 please see:

My First Tagging

1 - I love anything to do with nature, a gift I inherited from my mother who was an avid rockhound.

2 - I'd rather hike the high deserts of Utah searching for dinosaur bone than spend the day shopping for diamonds in Tiffanys.

3 - In my 63 years of life, I've never travelled off the North American continent; there's just so much to do here. But I do feel a strong pull towards Mongolia.....

4 - I've been addicted to Diet Coke since..... Does anyone remember NoCal?

5 - I enjoy eating slightly melted cherry vanilla ice cream, but can never wait unitl it softens.

6 - ♪ Five foot two, eyes of blue, but oh, what those five feet could do.... cootchie-cootchie-cootchie coo... ♪

In my next life I intend to be 5'8" which will give an entirely different perspective to my photographs.

7 - My first camera was a Kodak Brownie. Wish I still had it! It was made of black plastic and had the coolest flash attachment. I loved popping the bulbs out of the flash, it made such a great sound! And the bulbs themselves..... loaded with blue bubbles on the tip and lined with black gunpowder on the inside! LOL!! Well, it looked like gunpowder to an eight year old.

8 - I sleep the sleep of the innocent.

9 - I still foolishly believe that kindness is the route to true happiness..... well, me and the Dalai Lama (or is that the Dalai Lama and I).

10 - I'm an EXPLORE junkie! So FAV, FAV, FAV!

Tomorrow..... drama!!

Should have uploaded this during the Christmas season, I guess. But let's pretend that time is still with us.

Thank you for looking. Isn't God a great artist?

We should have arrived in Australia today. My son tested positive for Covid-19 2 days before departure and we are household contacts. We are isolating at home. Sorry Oz, we will be late. The photo shows my wife at an overnight stop along the Nullarbor Plain on our last trip to Australia. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn0lwGk4u9o

Hazel sitting on an almost vertically grown branch looking at me. It was not very high, maybe a meter or so above me, and it looks like as if she's actually calculating the flight parameters to jump on to my lens. She really likes sitting there (Squirrels-2019-8294.jpg)

Or should that title be climbing the Stairway to heaven.

By the end of 2021 l'm determined to finally climb it from sea level....(not like most people who start climbing it from Nant Peris half way up it or taking the Train...Ahhhhhh.)

l think 365 days should be enough time to complete the task in hand...however, it would more helpful if next year where a leap year, as that extra day would be very useful to have just in case of mishaps.

Should we go? Well I'd rather go than stay. Make it feel like yesterday.

That tear is only there because of the wind that was blowing straight into my eyes. But I do like how it came out.

This is taken on the same day as the previous photo, when I went out on my bicycle in the awful weather....the weather just made better pictures though. :)

You Should Know How the Whole of Humanity Has Developed to the Present Day (Part Two)

Introduction

Almighty God says, "All of His work is the most actual work. He carries out His work according to the development of the times, and He carries out His most actual work according to the changes of things. For Him, carrying out work is akin to administering medicine to an illness; He observes while doing His work; He works according to His observations. In every stage of His work, He is capable of expressing His ample wisdom and expressing His ample ability; He reveals His ample wisdom and ample authority according to the work of that particular age and allows any of those people brought back by Him during those ages to see His entire disposition. He supplies people’s needs and carries out the work He should do according to the work that must be done in each age; He supplies people’s needs according to the degree to which Satan has corrupted them."

What to do when alone in the forest? Take a selfie!

"Nasty Marbles", an Apple tree we grew from a seed of 'Granny Smith' about 17 years ago. It makes the most bitter tiny fruit, but it produces thousands, and when it flowers, it's one of the most spectacular shrubs on the farm. Too bad about its horrible fruit.

Photographed on Ilford FP4+, rated at 64 ASA and developed in home-made Mytol (Xtol ascorbate clone), undiluted for 6.5 minutes (which I found to be overdeveloped: 5.5 minutes should be plenty, next time)

In order to reach any of the other villages by land, residents had to take the strenuous route over mountains more than 400 metres high. This isolation explains why the village population had decreased.

In 2004 the Gásadalstunnilin tunnel was blasted through the rock, and it became possible to drive through by car. The residents hope this will mean that the village population will increase again. While the population increased briefly and reached a peak of 23 in 2010 it has only decreased since then and is at only 14 as of 2020.

As you can see, There are good opportunities for farming (Faroese standards).

“Humans aren’t as good as we should be in our capacity to empathize with feelings and thoughts of others, be they humans or other animals on Earth. So maybe part of our formal education should be training in empathy. Imagine how different the world would be if, in fact, that were ‘reading, writing, arithmetic, empathy.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson

On Saturday I gave a Composition in the Field Class in San Francisco. We passed along a bar on the street side of the Ferry Building. It has a nice wall of beer cans. We learned about patterns, and a photo gets more interesting if there is something that disrupts a pattern, here the water container.

“The cost of housing migrants in Britain has tripled to £4 million (€4.7 million) a day, according to The Telegraph.”

The Bible says that the antichrists kingdom will be a mixture of people who will not remain united. What we are seeing in Europe is Bible prophecy in action. The Bible also says that God will send the people a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. Definitely, there are a lot of zombie-like people walking around these days.

Luke 14:28 “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have wherewith to complete it?”

The tower of multiculturalism was sold to Canada by whom?

“Trudeau (Justin Trudeau’s daddy) claimed that there was no official Canadian culture and that no ethnic group should take precedence.” –Maclean’s

“There is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada,” (Justin) Trudeau said, concluding that he sees Canada as “the first post-national state.” –Toronto Sun

Under Justin Trudeau’s daddy, Canada became the first country in the world to introduce a multiculturalism policy. This policy laid the groundwork for the Canadian Multiculturalism Act of 1988. “It was the sort of stance that former Tory prime minister John Diefenbaker could embrace, as he did when his government passed the Bill of Rights in 1960.” Later came the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This charter gave judges the power to veto legislation. How democratic! This charter was just a scam to push through a bunch of new world order junk, which under the old system would have taken much more time to push through! Though the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms has greatly sped up the demise of Canada, most Canadians praise it.

Why should I care to find my song?

Why should you care to find yours?

Don’t we vibrate in an Ocean of Sound?

Does the dream of reaching ourselves

To finally know who we are

To finally know where we are going

Delight an Answer in limitless queries?

Don’t our bodies soak in possibility

Within the larger symphony of stars and galaxies

Beyond all mathematical perplexity?

Will our shallow throated emissions

Penetrate the shells still dividing us?

From nowhere and everywhere

This paradoxical quest holds the Tune

We are each an aspect of its vital Harmony

We find our journey waiting and singing to us

To invoke a much deeper throated response

Until we feel ourselves to be Home

Breath, should I take a deep?

Faith, should I take a leap?

Taste, what a bittersweet

All my, all my life

Let me face, let me face, let me face my fears

Oh, let me face, let me face, let me face my fears

Won't be long, won't be long, I'm almost here

Watch me cry all my tears
