One technique for printing color photographs is to use small dots of several basic colors.

When viewed from a distance, this image from a magazine looks smooth and continuous, but at the macro level, you can see it's actually made up of many, many tiny dots/specks.

HMM!

Watkins Glen International, nicknamed "The Glen", is an automobile race track located in Watkins Glen, New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It was long known around the world as the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980), but the site has been home to road racing of nearly every class, including the World Sportscar Championship, Trans-Am, Can-Am, Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the International Motor Sports Association and the IndyCar Series. Initially, public roads in the village were used for the race course. In 1956 a permanent circuit for the race was built. In 1968 the race was extended to six hours, becoming the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen. The circuit's current layout has more or less been the same since 1971. A chicane was installed at the uphill Esses in 1975 to slow cars through these corners, where a driver died during practice at the 1973 United States Grand Prix, and removed in 1985. Another chicane called the "Inner Loop" was installed in 1992 after a fatal accident during the previous year's NASCAR Winston Cup event. The circuit is known as the Mecca of North American road racing and is a very popular venue among fans and drivers.[citation needed] The facility is currently owned by International Speedway Corporation. The circuit also has been the site of music concerts: the 1973 Summer Jam, featuring The Allman Brothers Band, the Grateful Dead and The Band and attended by 600,000 fans, and two Phish festivals: Super Ball IX in 2011 and Magnaball in 2015.

I couldn't resist making some Lavender Teabags to go with the Quilted Teapot! My teabags are larger than a normal teabag so the teapot is really larger than it appears!

Handmadebymoi also makes lavender teabags.

International Triathlon Union ( ITU )

1991 World Championships short course at Disney World , Orlando, Florida

1500m swim

40km bike race

10km run

I had come down to support my dear friend Paulo Saldanha

Paulo who was a member of the 4 man Canadian National Triathlon team competing at the world's

The competition was held in Orlando Florida

Paulo is by far the most acclaimed of Canada's sports scientists

Many of Canada's top amateur and professional athletes benefit from Paulo and his team expert peak performance training regimen

It is no coincidence that Canadian athlete's had a banner Winter Olympic games in Vancouver

Many Gold medal winners achieved Olympic winning fitness levels thru Paulo and his team's expert guidance and state of the art training methods.

He understands their needs and psychology given he was a world class athlete himself.

He was also one hell of an athlete and competitor

No PED'S with Paulo

Unfortunately Paulo got kicked in the ribs during this particular race & swim start .

Sadly his rib injury resulted in a DNF

He would win many more high level Triathlons cycling and running races

For this particular swim start I was chest deep in water in order to get an exceptional shot !

Seriously hoping to keep the camera dry

Paulo has been an excellent coach and inspiration in my endurance event competition and more important a long time friend.

For this occasion is this road covered with sand, then the horse race is held. Short course race over a horse race is a waste 300 metres between horses with carts, called a sulky.

In most circumstances, it should be as simple as turning the switch on.

I took this photo in February 2010 inside the local swimming hall of my village Vágur. We have a very good swimmer here. His name is Pál Joensen, he is 19 years old, and he has already won silver at the European Swimming Championship 2010 in Budapest. We are so proud of him, not only we who live in his village, but all Faroese people. We are only 50.000 who live here, and we don't even have a 50 meter swimming pool in our country, and yet, we have an elite swimmer, who trains daily in our 25 meter long pool here in Vágur, and manages to win silver at the European Swimming Championship 2010. His trainer is Jón Bjarnason, he is also from my village Vágur. He has improved the standard of the swimmers here very much since he moved back from Denmark and started coaching the young people here. Several of them have had good results and have sat Faroese records.

Pál Joensen swam with the time 14.56.90 in Budapest on 11 August 2010, which was new Nordic record. Pál was the only Nordic man who made it to the finals. Not even any British man made it to the finals. The 8 men who swam in the final and their results:

1. Sebastien Rouault, France 14:55.17

2. Pál Joensen, Faroe Islands 14:56.90

3. Samuel Pizzetti, Italy 14:59.76

4. Federico Colbertaldo, Italy 15:06.92

5. Mateusz Sawrymowicz, Poland, 15:12.28

6. Anthony Pannier, France, 15:16.02

7. Gergely Gyurta, Hungary, 15:19.27

8. Przemyslaw Stanczyk, Poland, 15:24.26.

Pál Joensen participated also in the 800 meter freestyle in Budapest, he made it to the final with the fourth best time, and he became number 5 to the final, which was two days after the 1500 meter final. Pál sat new Faroese record when he swam to the final in 800 meter freestyle with the time 7:53.11. Only one second from the Nordic record. The winner of the 800 meter freestyle was again the French man Sebastien Rouault who swam with the time 7:48.28. I watched both finals in Eurosport. The Faroese television showed the finals too.

Pál Joensen holds many of the national swimming records of the Faroe Islands. He swam in other events than freestyle at the Island Games 2009 in Åland Islands, Finland and sat most of his records there, i.e. in breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley.
