She was on the coast, alone, watching the horizon, as if her little brain was flooded with thoughts bigger than her...
We met, and she was happy to meet me and see herself in these shots!
She was really alone, without parents...

A couple years ago I worked on an independent short film production some friends were doing. Just getting around to putting the photos up now.
more river scene work. We had to haul all of this stuff (and much more) almost a mile from nearest parking. It was a long day: after a full day shooting at the river, we also had a rather long night shooting at the gas station.

I got to meet cool people tonight, including Chad Lowe, the host of the Epidemic Film Fest and the director of Grease.
I am a sucker for my school.... Alma Mater in two weeks! They asked me to take some "edgy" photos at the first annual film festival. I was like, um you know what's so edgy about socialite/event photography? nothing, nada. I was supposed to stay for two hours, I ended up staying for five. Why can't I say no?
Can't remember if I took this at 800o r 1600 asa. I wish I would have brought my telephoto.

Introduction
She was a strong-minded woman. She paid a painstaking effort but always failed to get her wish, so she felt lost and was disoriented…. In her distress and helplessness, Almighty God end-time salvation came upon her. She saw the light of life and found the true goal in God's words , and her life was thus full of vitality and happiness. Unexpectedly, she was secretly watched and arrested by the CCP government because of that. To force her into selling out the church, the evil cops carried out “wheel combat” to destroy her willpower. During half a month, she was beaten up whenever dozed. In the face of the devils’ endless torture, she was mentally tensed and horrified all along…. In danger, God accompanied her by her side all the time, giving her faith, courage, and wisdom, and helping her miraculously flee the devil’s den under the evil cops’ eyes. Experiencing the CCP government’s persecution that time, she saw through the CCP devil’s evil and reactionary substance. Moreover, she personally experienced God’s wonderful deeds of ruling over everything and felt the tender care and love from God. She resolved to commit her whole life to God and perform the duty of a created being properly to repay God’s grace.

Her name is Christine and she's awesome! :) This was taken in between takes during the filming of "The Testimony of a Devotee" which I had the opportunity to shoot the stills for this weekend...it was fun!

Every image tells a story, but some images define a story. This portrait was chosen as the official poster image for the short film WUSS, capturing the essence of its tone and emotion. The expression in his eyes, the subtle tension in his expression/posture, and the cinematic lighting all contribute to a visual that speaks before a single word is spoken.
This image is not just a still, it’s a moment, a feeling, a preview of a larger narrative. Can a single frame capture the weight of a film? This one tries.
This old cinema opened it's doors in the beginning of the 20th century. It was a small and cosy cinema where people could watch their favourite short films.
Even though it only closed it's doors a few years ago, the decay has really set in in here, as if it's been abandoned for many many years already....

Esta ilusión persistió después incluso de que supiese que lo era. Mi padre, mis primos, todas las personas que conocía, conservaban voces fantasmas. No comprendí que eran imaginarias, que eran las proyecciones del hábito y de la memoria, hasta que salí del hospital. Un día estaba hablando con mi primo y él, en un momento de inspiración, se tapó la boca con la mano sin dejar de hablar. isilencio! Así me convencí definitivamente de que cuando no veía no oía"
