White-out near Cochrane, Alberta. I'll be away from tomorrow for a week but will catch up with you when I can - HFF!
Layers of grasses and trees are dusted with blowing snow in a farmer's field north of Guelph, Ontario
At first glance from a distance I thought this was a real person....he was sitting at the edge of the water at a boat mariner, I assume he's a pirate. I loved his long hair, it looked real!
The sunset tonight in Corona Del Mar, California. Single shot straight from the camera with an added graduated filter from Adobe Lightroom 2.
"What are timbers in the saying shiver me timbers?"
"Its meaning is clear enough. The word 'shiver' is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as “to break into small fragments or splinters” while the 'timbers' refer to the wooden support frames of old sailing ships."
Tis Rum I desire and to get back to the sea..
The Caymans seem like a good place to shoot and share a piece like this. Timing in life is so key to doing the things we enjoy the most. The right place, the right person, the right time. Timing and the wisdom to appreciate the connection between life's events can help us anticipate on our journey through life.

Where was the beautiful tall lady when I needed her, walking towards me on Trap Street, with her little dog?
I always look down this road if I'm going that way. And pretty as the view is, I always feels it just needs something extra.
Pan,zoom,shutter..... breath and shiver........

Ships to Shore 2017 - Steveston
One of the world’s largest tall ships, the Kaiwo Maru visited Garry Point Park, Steveston this past weekend.
Built in 1989, this majestic tall ship sailing from Japan is 361 feet in length and has over 29,000 square feet in sails.
Also known as the 'King of the Sea'.
Kaiwo Maru is a Japanese four-masted training barque tall ship.
She was built in 1989 to replace a 1930 ship of the same name.
The Ships to Shore celebration attracted thousands upon thousands of people, anxious to catch what possibly could be a once in a lifetime glimpse of this magnificent sailing ship.
In the background there were nautical displays, carnival activities, food concessions, fireworks and much more...
As night fell, a live band drew and captivated a large audience of people.....truthfully, none of that seemed to distract myself nor many other dedicated photographers..
I know I couldn't 'steer clear' (so to speak) from this extraordinary ship's side, nor could I afford wasting one precious moment of what night fall was offering.
The dimming sky provided ongoing colour and light photog opportunities that enhanced the magic of this fine lady and her scenic surroundings.
A sight to 'sea'
