Black and white is best at capturing the shimmering light as the waves crash upon these Low Head rocks.
The Swiss Brassy Ringlet is a butterfly found mostly in the alps of Switzerland and northern Italy. The wings of the males can shimmer in all colors depending on the angle of view. (The best view offers sunlight in your back, but ... this causes a shadow that might frighten the butterfly or ruin your photo 😠)
Erebia tyndarus

Wonderful to see how the late evening sun catches the "hairs" of this dandelion seedhead. Yes, it was a bit windy, hence the sense of movement.
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

I did this back in December 8th before I went on vacation to San Diego for 2.5 weeks. I just returned on January 10th...
& I have to say...
that break went by way too fucking fast.
Anyway, enjoy!
I have been away from Flickr for a while due to life getting in the way. I needed a break and to try and get my inspiration back - hope you like this shot - a bit different - a Marmite sort of shot - love it or hate it! I hope to catch up with everyone soon.

I stumbled upon this beautiful quote.
Have a lovely Saturday and weekend.
“Flowers are the music of the ground from earth’s lips spoken without sound.” ― Edwin Curran
This dragonfly landed on this reed at least a dozen times - the perfect place to show himself off and be surrounded by a sparkly backdrop. And every single time it was the same position - facing away from me.
While I would have preferred a shot facing more or less in the general direction of the camera I can't help but like how the lake in the background shimmers and shines.

Not sure of the ID - Slaty Skimmer or Blue Dasher? Any help would be appreciated.
