“The moment when you walk into a spider web and suddenly turn into a karate master.” - Unknown
This is the reason why my husband and I take turns being in the lead when we are hiking. :) Mind you, this web we saw in a misty marsh on an early morning sunrise shoot. There was no way you could miss the magical play of sun on the beads of water on the web. There was just enough of a breeze to make focusing a challenge. But I just couldn't pass up the lovely bokeh that the dew was creating in the field.
Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and it's beauty.

We went to Pitt Lake yesterday. Last time I went was in January...now the trees are filled with leaves and the lake covered with lily pads.It almost rained but not quite, the sky reflecting a wonderful glow in the water.

Somewhere roadside in the Scottish Highlands showing my mum (whom I worship the ground she walks on) the special beauty of the Scottish Highlands – mum wasn’t disappointed!

Here I have tried to simulate the impression of heat flicker on a hot asphalt road in a minimalist composition. The people are on a fortification wall in Sri Lanka. All other elements are artificial.
It's the first sunset of 2023! Photo was taken at Paine's Creek on Cape Cod. The marsh in this location works as a great setting at the golden hour. I don't often have people in the photo :) In this case, I think they added to the overall ambience of "Hope" (the shimmer).
May this year be a better one with peace, happiness and good fortunes.
Works best in large.
Happy New year 2023!
Usually when the male is in this stand is waiting for the female that flies around him.
Happy Sunday!
The early morning sky was blue blue and no wind. This made for a great opportunity to take this portrait of a mature Roseate Spoonbill in the Ten thousand Islsnd refuge. The reflection is a bright as the Rosy. Note the drop coming off the bill.
The colorful autumn leaves are long gone now, but they made for some lovely reflections while they were here.

The Aurora Borealis casts its spell across the Norwegian shoreline.
Just standing here with the remote shutter release staring up into the night sky was a surreal experience. I certainly set off here in the hope I would see the Northern Lights, but the reality is quite mind-blowing. We went on to see a further 3 displays in the next few days which grew with intensity and vibrance, But nothing compares to seeing them for the first time as I did on this night just North West of Tromso, in the Arctic Circle.
