閃閃發光的 鳶尾花

A beautiful, lone tree, on the banks of Loch Chon in The Trossachs.

The Trossachs is a wild and beautiful mini-highlands of Scotland within an hours drive of Glasgow. One of my favourite locations.

I was lucky enough to find this tree and for some light to break through the clouds (though we won't discuss falling over a fence and landing flat out to get here!). Without the light it is a pretty tree but with the light it shimmers. This demonstrates how important light is in photography, particularly landscapes.

The tide was coming in quickly when we visited Woolacombe which made for some good wet beach reflections and light shimmer. This is a great beach for reflections as it is long and gently sloping.

The way a reedbed handles the evening spring light is wonderful to watch, especially with a light wind. Taken in the marshes behind Southwold beach, Suffolk.

A Roseate Spoonbill pauses foraging to look up at us as he practically glows with reflected light

Despite being in Finland visiting my sick father and helping my mother I had the time to participate in the MM theme - Hard light.

Wish you all a wonderful week. Over here we have lots of snow with a little bit of Spring sun.

Happy MM. I will be back next week to comment and fave your pictures.

A Beautiful Sunrise...

A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky

In a Wonderland they lie,

Dreaming as the days go by,

Dreaming as the summers die:

Ever drifting down the stream —

Lingering in the golden gleam —

Life, what is it but a dream?

Sorry... just been enjoying myself! I manually focussed to try and emphasise the light reflecting off the water. I've never actually intentionally done this before, it's just maybe happened if I've been focussing on something floating/swimming on the surface. It was quite tricky as I was shooting into the sun that although was low-ish in the sky was still very bright, probably not a great idea as I was seeing stars for a while after!

6 image HDR focus stack, manually composited and manipulated for best effect. (Sometimes the AI in Photoshop's "blend" filter just doesn't create the image I want and it's easier, albeit longer, to do all the compositing without the AI's "help". 😁

Seaton (Cornish: Sethyn, meaning little arrow (after the river) is a village on the south coast of Cornwall. It is situated at the mouth of the River Seaton approximately three miles east of Looe and ten miles west of Plymouth.

The village stretches inland along the River Seaton valley. The beach is mostly shingle and stretches from the river to the village of Downderry which is approximately a mile to the east.

The midday sun sparkles on an overflowing Yarra River.

Watching the waves at sunrise, I loved the way it was illuminating patches and giving it a golden glow.

Beautiful light over Loch Achray at dawn. The Loch seems to be a magnet for mist at dawn. Well i'm not going to complain about that!

Reflections off a NYC building

Different parts of the beach offer different types of reflections, depending on how fast the water is flowing. This area gave this shimmering effect, which I quite like.
