Posting this in reply to Sherri's picture of me, that we took of each other at the exact same time.
It's nice of Sherri to say Im not a hideous hack, and, I would say the same for her if I could, but,.. I hate to lie! :)
Just kidding Sherri, you are beautiful, and so is your husband, or whatever might be behind you.
It's been crazy cold here in Newfoundland as of late (-15C with windchills down to -30C). However, over Christmas I was home and did a quick couple session for Sherri and Lorne. They just wanted some nice shots of the two of them (together and solo portraits). We shot mostly inside, but we did pop outside (it was -10 or so) for a few minutes to try and make use of some late day sun and the benefits of light-reflecting-snow! I liked these 2 shots, and the warm colours in the brush/grass behind them (even with the snow). Nothing technical going on here, just the D7100 and 85mm f/1.8D lens and some natural light. We high-tailed it back to the car quickly after taking these shots - way too cold!!
The purple crown on Sherri's head made her stand out in the crowd. She is an animal rights activist who is working to get puppy mills and the roadside sale of puppies outlawed in Louisiana. To help prevent female animals from being turned into breeding machines by unscrupulous vendors, Sherri encourages every potential pet owner to visit the local animal shelter and adopt a loving, homeless pet instead of purchasing one. Save one animal from euthanasia while helping prevent the abuse of others. Hopefully within the next year, roadside vendors of dogs and cats will disappear due to Sherri's work.
