GBRF 50 007 'Hercules' pulls away from a signal check at Kensington Olympia on a Class 50 Alliance railtour. On this date I'd seen a couple of railtours going via the West London Line on RTT so I ventured down to Shepherds Bush to check them out. I was pleased to see a 50 on the front of this one! A Southern 377 has just by in the opposite direction in the distance.

This statue representing 'vision' is in the centre of the former BBC Television Centre, Wood Lane, White City. It sits beneath a statue of Helios which stands on a column, and alongside a corresponding reclining statue depicting 'sound'. The sculptor was T. B. Huxley-Jones.

The building was designed in a modernist style by architect Graham Dawbarn and opened in 1960. The BBC moved their operations out of building in 2013 and following renovations, it reopened in 2017 as a mixed use development which includes office space, residential apartments, leisure services as well as rertaining three TV production studios.

I think I've still got one or two more which I wish to put online but my internet connection is down to 28.8kbps (though there was a surge this am) and I'm too busy at the moment to investigate broadband options.

This one is much sharper than yesterday's picture because I shot it wide (24mm) at 1/13 seconds
