the kids on the island still remember my 365 shell project of last year and often bring me shells.
so... here is ricardo at west bay showing all the great conch he found.
Shell Island, also known as Mochras, is a peninsula lying west of Llanbedr in Gwynedd, Wales. It was formed after the River Artro was diverted by the Earl of Winchelsey in 1819 from its previous course where it entered the sea to the south of Shell Island. Prior to this, access to the ancient settlement on the island would have been through the village of Llandanwg, which is now across the estuary.
This display of shells and marine things has some obviously wrong items glued in places where I have to imagine the original shell fell off or was pulled off at some point. I don't know who did it, or why, but its pretty weird and adds to my overall delight in this one for sure.
While on Holiday with the family in Shell Island we watched an amazing sunset... who needs photo editing when they're captured just like this!
Taken at the light house at Cabrillo Monument in San Diego. Yes, I know it's a cliche but I couldn't help myself.

We've many snails this year. Some are masterpieces by Nature, and all are looking different. This one has a cracked shell. What had happend? (larger version).
Minneapolis-Moline Sheller on an auction site. Sheller was mounted on a truck frame and the owner said this thing would really eat the corn.
My granddaughter was fascinated by the shells she found on the beach. The cork is so you can gauge the size of her finds.
That has to be the "starter" hanging out from the front bumper. Isnt it? I thought this was a photo from a scrap yard at first. But after looking below the cob stacker, this machine was running.
