Nano-fingerprint
A close-up image of a single tungsten diselenide nanostructure. The complex spiral pattern is similar to a fingerprint, allowing for the identification of the arrangement of atoms within the material. Different nanostructures will have different spiral patterns that will change the arrangement of atoms, leading to unique properties. Understanding these changes and the corresponding properties can broaden the applications for this material, from solar energy to memory storage.
