artist in center of Vienna, she took a cigarette break and she was so kind to allow me to take a shoot. Too bad that she did not gave me her email address.
She was walking towards me and I knew instantly that I would ask her to take her picture. Her bright red colors made me want to talk to her.
I asked her in Finnish whether she'd like to pose for me and she said simply: "Why not!"
As I was introducing myself, I noticed almost immediately, while I was doing the shooting, that she was not wearing any socks, just shoes, not even winter boots!
"Aren't you cold?" I asked astonished.
"No!" Eeva said with a big smile on her kind face.
"Are you serious, how can you not be cold?" I insisted.
"Well, you are quite a sharp observer if you've noticed that I don't wear socks" she laughed, and continued. "I have been living 10 years in a warmer country where I've never used socks and when I've returned to Finland, I've just lost the habit of using them." Eeva explained.
Well, I've just come back from + 34 degrees C, in the shade, to 0 temperature, I just couldn't even imagine being without boots!
It was then that I told Eeva that I came from Israel.
"Ma pit'om?" How come?, she said in... Hebrew.
"Wow, do you speak Hebrew?" I asked in even greater astonishment.
How could I have chosen Eeva of all people!
"I have been living for 10 winters in Tiberias", she said, "that's where I've never used socks because of the heat!"
We laughed.
"Oh, so it was Israel, the other country. What a wonderful encounter!" I said and gave Eeva a huge hug.
She was so pleased, too. She told me she wrote three books about Israel. I wanted to know more. She gave me her email and her site addresses. I have already sent her the pictures I took of her and hope to learn to know more about this wonderful lady.
That was such a fantastic coincidence, if you believe in such, or rather ... serendipity comes to my mind.

i used to pick flowers of shion (tartarian aster) at the backyard of my elementary school. unlike dandelions, they have very strong, stringy stems. after school kids came and pick flowers, there were always a few shion flowers hanging down from partially torn stems.
This is Afsheen (Affie) taking her morning bath in a tub. She is my sisters best friends year old daughter. Awfully cute.
WEEEEEEEE! I ordered her back in april and she finally came! I love love love love her sooo much! I'm naming her Abigail (Abby for short) *Expect spam*
