A moment of quiet contemplation in the Capcir region. This diminutive tit, looking a little ruffled and on the rise, was found perched on a developing pine bud. The soft, diffuse light of the mountain environment perfectly highlights its black cap and grey-buff plumage. This was a classic moment of "on-the-fly" nature photography, enabled by the fast AF and excellent stabilization of the new OM-D E-M1 Mark II and M.Zuiko 150-400mm Pro.

I photographed this scene while camping at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. The lizard stayed still just long enough for me to frame the shot before it darted off.
This appears to be a male Prairie Lizard (Sceloporus consobrinus), common in this region. The blue markings on the throat and belly are typical for males during the warmer months.
