We watched this little hawk watching a pyracantha bush full of house sparrows. It waited 20 minutes before moving on.

Sharp-shinned Hawk photographed on Monhegan Island, ME on 29 September 2018.

I was fortunate to linger with this guy for about 20 minutes in Capisic Pond Park! Of course the sun did what I wanted after he swooped away but got some reasonable looks.

This was a big sharpie but the leg/foot size tell me it's not a coopers, and one very experienced birder!

Sharp Shinned Hawk, this guy is an everyday visitor to the backyard feeder ,photo taken on 1/12/11, Phila., P.a.

It kind of looks like a pink explosion coming out of a dangerous spiky thing. It's kind of funny how something so soft and harmless looking comes out of something that looks so sharp and dangerous, it's full of contrasts.

I've got lots of this stuff.
