Love is a sharing

and a caring,

Born of truth

Love is not using

Or being used

Love is not abusing

or being abused

Love is not even

Giving or taking

For that leads to

counting and accountings

of "look what I did for you?"

So, verily, merrily, I say unto you,

That love is a sharing

A caring

Born of truth.

For those are the roots

From which all us children flow.

Somewhere between 7 and 10 Clark's Nutcrackers were feeding on the lawn at Lightning Lake Day Use Area. Most were newly fledged and one seem to have made its first long flight by a mother tired of feeding it and listening to its begging for food.

"Change your heart

Look around you

Change your heart

It will astound you

I need your lovin'

Like the sunshine"

Now, in winter, the river is running high for a few days. The river authority is sharing some of the water they retained most of last year. Right now the level stands at 2.92m , and the Ebro looks like a river rather than a creek. Most of the summer and fall the level was low, at times 0.58m which is way below the sediment replacement level for the Delta. The red line to the right of the writing on the wall is the minimum waterlevel required to sustain the delta. The writing says: "No to water diversion".

Two butterflies sharing a branch in a private garden in Harrisburg, PA. It can be very hard to tell apart the Monarchs from the Viceroys. These are Monarchs - you can tell by the absence of the extra black stripe on the tip of the wings. The lovely blue flower is Mealycup Sage or Salvia farinacea. View On Black

Young Poe seems to have found him self in the middle of something rather strange! At first it was just Little Lenore and him self talking with her undead Puppy. Than all of the sudden Little Leilani and her cuddle bear ran over and grabbed one of Young Poes hands.

Lenore was shocked and quickly grabbed the other hand before someone else tried to steal it away from her.

"Leilani that's my Nice Poe," said Little Lenore in a shy manner not wanting him to be taking away.

"Its not fair that you get a Poe and no one else gets one silly," giggled Little Leilani as she felt so happy holding on to Poe's hand.

"But I need my Poe," sniffled little Lenore worried that she might loss him.

"Oh fine how about we share him I'll get this hand and you can have that hand!" reasoned Little Leilani now feeling really smart for coming up with a way for them to make a happy compromise.

"Um... but are you sure that it would work?" asked Little Lenore still not sure for something just did not set right in her little tummy.

"Well of coarse after all did you hear that man I am the Queen of dream land so I make a rule that Poe will be shared with the dream girls! and that way no one will be sad ever again," Stated Little Leilani trying to sound important like a ruler might.

Young Poe was not sure what was happening but for some reason he was happy that his Classes wore about to be started soon after all he would need his hands sooner or later.

Pyrops whiteheadi & Cockroaches - Danum Valley, Malaysia

My previous photo in my photostream shows ants interacting with a leafhopper in order to obtain honeydew. So I thought it would be interesting to follow up with a different example of the same behavior. This interaction is a bit more unusual as this time its a roach with a lantern bug! There is also actually a second roach but its not visible from this angle. Honeydew is a sugary liquid secreted by certain insects. I have known for a long time ants harvested it from aphids, but I was surprised to see roaches interacting with other bugs for it and I was shocked to learn even geckos will do this! In terms of the ants its mutualism as the ants benefit from the food and the insects they recieve it from benefit from the protection of the ants. A similar interaction has been suggested between the geckos and lanternbugs as the gecko may eat the competing insects. However I'm not sure what benefit if any the lanternbug receives from interaction with cockroaches.

Share Auto - Very economic mode of commutation to travel inside Hyderabad. The cost is not meter based but a fixed charge which is very less and cheap, say like Rs 5 for approx 3 kms per head. Since its per head basis its gives the driver extra profit. To acheive a better profit margin, majority of the drivers pack their vehicles with a number 7 exclusive of the driver. Even though this is very dangerous and not legal, its a very common thing here in Hyderabad.

Guess what, today I see this while going through the streets of Hyderabad. Instead of humans, I see goats even in the drivers seat.

The blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus), also called the common wildebeest, white-bearded wildebeest, or brindled gnu, is a large antelope and one of the two species of wildebeests. It is placed in the genus Connochaetes and family Bovidae, and has a close taxonomic relationship with the black wildebeest. The blue wildebeest is known to have five subspecies. This broad-shouldered antelope has a muscular, front-heavy appearance, with a distinctive, robust muzzle. Young blue wildebeest are born tawny brown, and begin to take on their adult colouration at the age of 2 months. The adults' hues range from a deep slate or bluish gray to light gray or even grayish brown. Both sexes possess a pair of large curved horns

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_wildebeest

The most striking morphological differences between the black and blue wildebeest are the orientation and curvature of their horns and the color of their coats. The blue wildebeest is the bigger of the two species.

The horns of blue wildebeest protrude to the side, then curve downwards before curving up back towards the skull, while the horns of the black wildebeest curve forward then downward before curving upwards at the tips.

It misses a bit of sharpness in the colored wing and the top of the flower should be a bit sharper as well, but I'm happy with the result.

I am looking to find the right setting (iso, aperture).

Camera settings: iso 200, f=5, -0,3 EV, aperture priority, distance to object = 67 cm, 105 mm (on my camera this is 157,5 mm)

South Africa and Western Australia, the two sites for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), share the same southern geographic latitude. Therefore, they also share the same night sky, albeit with a time difference of about 6 hours.

Since the early days of human presence in these parts of the world, the indigenous peoples have seen the same constellations, the Milky Way and the planets wheel overhead; first in Australia and a few hours later in South Africa. This is a powerful idea that lets the imagination run free in these days of international collaboration in building the largest radio telescope the world has ever seen: the Square Kilometre Array.

A recent exhibition, 'Shared Sky', brings together works of art by indigenous artists from both areas in a magnificent collection, as breathtaking as the sky itself.

The Yamaji and other aboriginal artists have contributed paintings that are done in the typical colourful pointillistic style on phenomena in the sky, like the stars, planets, sun and moon and the Emu in the sky: the Milky Way.

The descendants of San people of the Karoo in South Africa have contributed artworks done in textiles, depicting stories of creation and ancient celestial culture.

The exhibition was opened last month in Perth, Australia at the John Curtin Gallery and will ultimately travel to all corners of the globe. Next stop South Africa. More background information can be found on the website of the SKA: www.skatelescope.org/shared-sky/
