I heard the Ted Talk "embrace the shake" years ago, you can watch it at www.ted.com/talks/phil_hansen_embrace_the_shake#t-36932 We all some limitations though maybe not as extreme but instead of making excuses for not being able to do something because of them, embrace them and own it. The talk is worth a watch if you have 10 minutes to spare.

Has been a tourist attraction in Borrowdale for as long as we have had tourists. Weighing in at 2000 tonnes it is 30ft. high and 30ft across. Length is 90 ft. As can be seen in the pic it balances on a knife edge, remarkable as it probably fell 800 feet from a near by crag ten thousand years ago. A small hole in the base enables folk to shake hands beneath it. A ladder gives access to the top but this was being replaced when I took this pic. White chalk marks all over the rock demonstrate its popularity with rock climbers with time on their hands ... and chalk.

Juvenile Forsters Tern shaking the water off its feathers in flight after an unsuccessfully diving on a fish. It is fun to watch the contortions that these terns get into when drying their feathers.

On a recent camping trip we enjoyed observing the loons on the lake we were camped at. Sometimes they came in quite close to shore, but in this case we were actually in our kayaks shooting toward the shore. Love it whne they do the shake off. Happy Wing Wednesday!
Sea otters have the thickest fur, up to 1 million hairs/square inch, of any animal. That fur insulates them since unlike other marine mammals, they have no blubber. They frequestly shake, twirl, make repeated short dives, and groom themselves to keep that fur from tangling. This is a female because the abrasion on her nose is from a male grabbing on to her during mating or attempted mating.
