A Common Loon shaking off the water that beads so beautifully on its waterproof feathers, after an unsuccessful fishing dive.
I had never seen this plant before, but my Facebook friends steered me to Clematis. This one is C. hirsutissima, known by the common name, Sugarbowls.

Nothing as satisfying as a good shake to get rid of all the water that has accumulated on a heavy mane after a rain storm, as this large male lion is showing. Just prior, he was hunkered down in the tall grasses on the savanna in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

A grebe does a little shake after climbing out of the water.
looking forward to spring and summer with these guys and hoping to be able to photograph some young grebes this year.
A drake Mallard washes up, dunking his head under the water repeatedly and shaking off the excess. It's nesting season and he has to look his best!!

A second trip out to see the Foxes. The wet weather appeared to relax the Foxes as the afternoon past. It was turning out to be a very good session. But still no Fox cubs seen.
