Looking towards Stanage Edge

Early morning sunlight piercing the rising mist over the ruins of Corfe Castle

Salt mining shaft in Romania. It definitely the place worth seeing. You start your way on a bus. I'm not talking about way from hotel to this shaft. I mean you start going in to the shaft on a bus. After a 10 minutes ride you are left near those stairs leading deep down to the salt mining. You feel it in the air because walls & sealing are made of salt. One of the great places to see in Romania.

The sun shines through a break in the clouds at Zion Canyon.

A shaft of light illuminates the face of a Great Blue Heron

From Scientific America:

The typical style of predation used by herons is pretty well known: they stand still in shallow water, wait for fish to come within range, and then throw the head and neck forward such that they impale prey with the spear-like jaws. This action is known simply as a ‘bill stab’. The Great blue heron hunts this way, and the bulk of its diet (as much as 98% in some studies) and time spent hunting involve this ‘conventional’ fishing style. Its large size means that it consistently captures fish larger than those caught by other heron species (Willard 1977), a classic example of niche partitioning in places where the Great blue heron lives alongside smaller species. It often hunts at night in some places.

After such a beautiful sunny day out with the camera... I laid back in my garden chair to view the clouds.

The shafts of light streaming through looked amazing..

Still on cloud 9...

An early morning walk through the forest,as the sun rises, shafts of light find a way through the tree canopy and illuminate the forest floor,as if some alien space craft was about to land.

It was dark cold, very windy, and threatening rain, and most birds were nowhere to be seen. This Yellow-shafted Flicker (Northern Flicker) flushed from the brush and went to this massive tree trunk, quite a distance away from me.

During our journey to Romania we witnessed amazing salt shaft. Place was so amazing that i took few photos. Your really go down there by bus and than walk by the stairs. Long trip to see huge halls of that magnificent dungeon.

Crepuscular rays in abundance!

A little wave I stumbled on this evening captured back in January 2019. It survived numerous house keeping culls as I like the dramatic light from the low late sun. Enjoy your weekend.

Leaving the Trowutta Arch and that section of the Tarkine rainforest, we continued our way along the Tarkine Drive. This 60 km stretch of road takes in some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Tasmania. The rain had been with us since leaving Trowutta, but when we got to this spot just before reaching the coast, the sun broke through.

Was in the woods at Harlestone Firs near Northampton the other day - saw this and snapped it with my walk about camera.

I originally shot in colour but converted it to b/w as it added more impact to the shaft of light and the contrast between the outside and the darkened room.
