Kruisspin - Araneus diadematus
This picture is SOOC for a Matt Granger competition...
Damn, that's hard doing macro.
With every shot a zillion questions went through my mind! Is it sharp? What about composition? Where is the sun? What's in the backgrond? (Change the composition a few degrees... wrong background... or a piece of grass that's in the way... :-S ) Shadowside of the spider... body not to dark? Legs not to bright? Right DOF for both the spider and the web? Yes, this is it!! Take the shot!!! Wind... :-( ... have to wait... the shadow of a leave fals over the spider... wait... wind... not sharp... not sharp... wind... Why can't I feel my right leg anymore? Auw!!! A 1000 needles after standing up. (Strange looks on the faces of a few people passing by :-P) What was it I like about photography?
And then you come home and see your best shots on the monitor of your laptop... Why is that different from my camera screen??? I was so happy with that shot and now I have to dump it!!!
Luckely all the effort payed off... and it was a lot of fun!
Matt, please be gentle!!!

self-portrait in monochromatic tones. Taken the same day I had my pupils dilated for eye treatment. It was weird seeing my pupils that large.
