It was Sunday morning in June

Trees in my garden provide shades and shelters

I like the shadow paintings of the tree

That shadow areas are relatively flat and dark

The walls have these paintings on sunny days

Sunlight paintings on the white house

I like the dark shadow paintings from the sun

The shadows have no higher saturation of color.

I captured this at the Great Sand Dunes NP in Colorado on a Partly Cloudy afternoon. As I was watching the light and shadows move across the landscape it reminded me of an old silent B&W movie.

Lots of dark places out there. Lots of places of light as well! People tend to see the dark much more than the light. Pity. On the other hand, there's no shadow without a light and no light without a shadow...

Well, at least it's not the bird flu. And nobody said I can't meet with the geese at the lake. These are greylags by the way, and by now (the photo was taken in February) the big flocks of geese have disbanded. They're all hanging out in pairs now 😊

A plowed field with an old tree as the sun went down, creating some interesting lines and shadows.

Before the second lockdown, I'd made an appointment to enter the botanic gardens at the opening hour. While waiting I roamed the plaza and really liked the shadows.
