In my first pictures of Kyori Shade (and to my shame my only other shoot to date) she wore The Fierce Subject oriental style evening gown - very elegant! For this second set I wanted to have a total contrast! What do you think of her as biker chick?
Up on the saddle between Squaw and Big Spring Canyons, turned around and looking back in. That was a hot day, so Kani found shade.
As suggested by the bright, almost glaring background, it was a sunny, hot day in The Okavango. This male cheetah (acinonyx jubatus) had the answer and was stretched out, in comfortable shade, beneath a tree. Sitting in an open-topped jeep, I was a little envious! Only opened this year, and an amazing structure designed by Rudy Ricciotti the same architect behind the Pavillon Noir in Aix-en-Provence.
Have borrowed a Canon 7D from a friend to see how I get on with it, it's a big step for me. This was hidden well away in the shade, laying her eggs.

A visit to my sister this evening and suddenly remembered my pic as I left ! Hallway lampshade and shadow. Taken on Fuji X100s.
There's no shade better than canyon shade, 'cept maybe arch shade. But that's so rare it hardly counts.
