The 'oonjal' (swing) ceremony is possibly a throwback from the days of child marriages, where children were pacified and rocked to sleep after the ceremony on the large traditional teak swings that were common in the verandahs of houses. The swing ceremony actually symbolizes the ups and downs that every couple has to negotiate in their life together; however they are not alone, and their elders, families, friends are around to help them through this. Here, some friends of the two families sing traditional swing ceremony songs in Tamil. It was actually quite lovely and touching....

This elegant and lovely fresh water pearl earring/bracelet set is a must have for anyone that loves the beauty and sophistication of pearls. Definitely not your Mothers pearls, the unusual mixture of various sizes and shapes of Swarovski crystal, fresh water faceted and rice pearls make this a stunning piece for a night out. The pieces just glisten and sway with every move. (the photograph just doesn't do them justice) Earrings are approximately 1 1/2 inches long. Bracelet is approximately 6-7 inches long. Ear-post,chain and closure are 14Kgf.

This was painful to animate on, but I got the shot after I redesigned the way I took the set apart every frame.
I just put together a quick new photo booth this morning. Honestly I don't notice too much of a difference so I'll be toying around with it more. It's made of legos and paper :V.
Also quick preview of new product for you guys. The release should be next week and the review for it will be going up today or tomorrow (The photos will have a different set up though as I finished the review a few days ago).

Salteado de setas (rebozuelos, fredolics, rovellons) con butifarra y ajos tiernos. Ejemplar el sabor y punto de cocción de las setas y rotundos los pedazos de butifarra del fondo. Muy buen plato, un clásico en temporada.
The William Livingstone Lighthouse

This is my third (successful) time doing Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) of the William Livingstone Lighthouse on Belle Isle, Detroit, Michigan, USA.
My first KAP of this lighthouse was two years ago this month (click here). Being the same time of year, the photos in this set look very similar to those from two years ago. However, I did get some close up shots in this set.
One interesting comparison of this set with the earlier one is that the other set, taken with a Canon G9, shows significantly more barrel distortion than this set, taken with a Canon A630.
I had some technical difficulties with my RC transmitter mid way through this session, and the camera got stuck pointing into the sky. I brought the rig down, set the camera in a fixed position and sent it back up, so I was restricted to being able to photograph the lighthouse from that one angle.
