MISSING ITEMS: Dress, bloomers, shoes, socks, hat, sailboat, book, 4 markers

PERSONAL FUN FACT: It's probably hard to tell from this photo, but this is in fact Bitty Bear's hat. I found it, along with a few other Bitty Baby scraps, in a bin of Barbie stuff I got at a flea market in 2012. I haven't used it on display yet for one of my bears, since I don't have any appropriate outfits to use this with. I would absolutely love to find the rest of this set. I have such fond memories of seeing it in the American Girl catalogue when I was younger. I hope one day I can find Bitty's outfit...Bitty Bear's hat would be the harder thing to find in the wild, due to its tiny size.

I had LOTS of fun during today's session.

This little beauty's mom is a dentist and her dad is a dental technician.

We had the shoot in their dental practice. This is her dad's lab :)

I'd never believe if someone'd told me i'd ever do something that crazy, lol.

APPROXIMATE RELEASE DATE: 2000-2001

IMPORTANT NOTES: This same outfit, minus Bitt Bear's hat and the crayons, was available from 2007 to 2008. The 2007 version is called the "Trick-or-Treat Set + Book."

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This outfit is so cute, it is painful! I still have yet to see a Bitty Baby costume I like more than this. I really wish that American Girl had not used velcro on this fashion though. The velcro always gets caught on the tights, so mine do not look perfect anymore. I remember being SO careful while dressing my childhood doll in this ensemble...and yet the velcro still snagged. You cannot put the tights on afterwards either, since the pumpkin is a romper (meaning it has leg holes). The shoes also have velcro, so they pick at the tights too. My favorite part about this set has to be the hat. It looks so darn cute on my bald babies! It has a very thin elastic to hold it up, but it seems to stay in place decently (even considering that it's 20 plus years old now). I really adore how Bitty Bear got a matching hat as well. The pumpkin candy basket is just like the one that was packaged with my Girl of Today cat costume. I somehow never managed to confuse the two, since I always stored Bitty's stuff separately as a kid. But these days, both baskets are stashed together since we use American Girl accessories in photos (it's easier to organize by like items, rather than segregating by doll type). As for the crayons and coloring book, once again I never touched these. It's a cute idea, but the very thought of defiling this sweet book with crayon made my skin crawl as a kid. I was a perfectionist through and through, so I could never tarnish my pristine coloring book with crayons!

my work set-up, a bit of organised chaos happening, but that's just how i work :)

Doing the ten meter challenge from DPS, I used the really old and superfine china teapot and a tea cup that I got from my grandmother.

When I was a teenager I used to open up one of her china cabinets and look at the set, running my fingers along the edge of the cups. I loved the geisha pattern and told my grandmother that I really wanted them some day and that she could never ever sell them or give them away to anyone else.

Not long after I moved out of my parents' place, my grandmother boxed them up and gave them to me. I've always been afraid of using them lest they break but I'm frequently tempted. I do use one cup to hold jewelry on my dresser but the rest of the set lives on display in my china cabinet.

I really should use them just once at least.

The capitals of the cloister

In the late eleventh century are a set of themed cloister capitals of fantastic animals and some geometric and floral motifs which highlights the scrolls. A second group, consisting of twenty capitals, was commissioned in the last third of the twelfth century the master of San Juan de la Peña , author anonymous, also known as Master of Agüero, probably to replace an earlier one. The small enclosure featuring an enclosure diaphanous shaped arches separated by columns. The arches were topped with borders with typical jaqués tread geometry. The Master has a program where they appear on biblical scenes including the Annunciation to the shepherds, the Nativity, the Annunciation, Epiphany, Baptism and Circumcision of Jesus, the Last Supper, episodes of Cain and Abel, the Creation of Adam and Eva and his reproof and conviction to work. Surely the only developed Agüero master the capitals for two wings of the cloister since the late twelfth century the monastery came into decline. The iconographic program posed the 26 capitals to retain focus seems Salvation through Faith choosing the most significant episodes for this.

It works with bas almost all dominated by a horror vacui contortions caused very marked in some figures that exceed the frame itself as an arm taking in the scene of Jesus and the Apostles. The gestures are exaggerated, almost theatrical, accentuating the eyes and mouth, and giving narration to scenes. As for the forms, they undergo geometric patterns that dominate from the configuration of the face or the folds of drapery, to the movement of horses or the same water being poured from a jug to another.

The Maestro Aguero , also called the Master of San Juan de la Peña , it was a sculptor and architect active in the region of the Five Towns (Aragon) , Spain , during the Romanesque in the second half of the twelfth century . His work coincides with the reign of Alfonso II of Aragon (1162-1196). He held a workshop that worked throughout the region, and highlighted by a typology based architectural masonry and numerous buttresses . Significant and features are the covers, in which he worked got a rare monumentality. Also highlighted by large sculptures that decorated the facades and eardrums , with so-called insect eyes , disproportionate and striking with the rest of the body.

Activity area

His work is found in other places, as in the old monastery of San Juan de la Peña , in the cloister of San Pedro the old ( Huesca ), and in the church of Santa María la Real, in Sangüesa ( Navarra ). In the Five Towns area highlight their work in the church of Santiago in Aguero , Church of San Gil ( Moon ), Church of San Salvador ( Luesia ), Church of St. Michael the Archangel ( Biota ), Church of St. Saviour ( Ejea of the Knights ), Church of St. Nicholas ( The Frago ), Church of San Antón ( Taussig ) and church of San Felices ( Uncastillo ). wp

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This is probably my favorite Valentine's Day themed outfit ever made for Bitty Baby. Okay, I'm biased because my mom surprised me with this set when I was younger. I think the shoes are the cutest part about this ensemble. I love the little heart shaped cut outs!!! You can see that this set came with multiple envelopes and heart shaped stickers. I guess that they were intended to be used as Valentine's cards for other people. Obviously, I never used mine. I like to keep them tucked safely away inside the mail box along with the stickers. I'm sure that the stickers probably wouldn't work anymore due to their age anyways. The mailbox is definitely one of the cutest, most unique accessories I have ever seen for Bitty Baby. I like that the door opens and the flag can be positioned which ever way you want! The sweater and dress are impeccable quality. The embroidered details are my favorites, as always. These socks were heavily played with since I only had one other pair. I love the choice of a beret for Bitty to wear with this....usually she gets headbands. Bitty Bear was given a whole outfit for this set. The apron dress is easy to put on. Of course as a kid I was conflicted about the dress, because I considered Bitty Bear to be a boy...I felt kind of bad dressing him in this. I have an extra sweater that I acquired at the flea market some years ago. I always make a point of hoarding extra American Girl pieces if they are cheap enough.

Sive, written by Listowel man John B Keane was staged in St John's Theatre this week

Sive is a play by Irish playwright John B. Keane that depicts Irish rural life in the 1950s. The main character of the play is Sive, yet she rarely speaks in the play. This ultimately enhances the impact of the whole play on the audience. We get a clear sense of how she is being used. Her voice is literally drained out by the power hungry nature of the society in which she lives.

The drama is a clear tragedy - a tragedy that never had any real sense of escapism whilst amid selfishness and greed. Money dominates almost every line of the play, which brings to light the play's moral - that innocent people suffer in vast ways in a society that is so self consumed and dominated by powerful authoritarian people.

I don’t mind admitting these strobes are whipping my ass. So far I’ve winged it without the destructions. I have to wait for my wife to read me the destructions for the umbrellas. They are frustrating me. Then I have to buy a set of extension cords to plug the strobes in and figure out the hot shoe remote. @Sigmon Whitener, @Sammy Roberts, HELP! I’ll search the web for a tutorial. @Sammy, when you come to visit I may force you to help!

6/5/13 11:46:17 PM

Just setting up the umbrellas about whipped my butt. i got them up tonight. Now I have to run wires and figure out the remote synch. I have a synch that sets on my hot shoe and three extra cords that seem to go to no where. I may just turn these on and use available light.........I'll be forced sooner or later to go to a sight to see if anyone has a demo. I've got a lot of learning to do and these may just lie in the garage and replace my Van.

I get the soft box cloths, the snoot and I have some filters but the night might be over for me.

My extension cords etc are tied up with my PA in my trailer and it is pouring rain.

6/6/13 7:40 PM

I moved the strobes into the living room with built in Dry wall and outlets. I will be forced to dust the living room now. I may have set a trap for my wife and I to trip and fall down the steps! Yes, I did the floor job but didn’t know what I was doing there either. I will fix everything! First I have to learn how the synchs work!

I figured out how to turn on two of the three strobes but can’t figure out the sync receiver. I don’t think my D-600 has a plug in. Maybe the D-7000 does but it is in the shop. I will check the D-90. But just turning on the lights makes for some fun!

I really have to work on the light positions etc and have to give in and watch a tutorial on how to sync up the strobes. I have plugged in and out of every PA system known to man using adapters from hell but I can't find anywhere to plug into the D-600. I'll look at my other cameras. I may be doomed to buy another camera specifically for the strobes.

Practicing Pet Photography! Bad focus in the eyes...... I have to increase the aperture and shoot on manual. Obviously being behind the camera instead of using a remote would be better. However I thought maybe a running set up of a system might be fun for the group.

If I can make those strobes work correctly I may do some portrait work for friends. See the shadow off the magazine on my chest? I have to do things like turn the overhead light off. This is without the kicker or gold Umbrella flash. I also only used the modeling lights on the strobes as I can't figure out the syncs yet. If I do i may be dangerous. This means if you get any clients and need some excuse to come to Winston to shoot you can use my stuff. i have about three or four other backdrops to try. We need to get some curtains to take care of the outside light coming in. I am close but really need some practice.

Also you can see if you blow this up the magazine labels lose focus. So i also have to get the aperture down, which means setting the numbers higher f/16 an up....maybe that will help the depth of field.

Throughout the whole show, it felt like I got to shoot 1-2 songs. Some of the openers songs were so short, but luckily I got some shots to post! Thoughts?

Amo los set de te, este es uno de los que tengo.

Came across this chess set, sadly the white king had been decapitated and poorly repaired. Ambient light, used the drapes in the hotel room as backdrop along with a very narrow DOF.

A Westbound M337X (Extra) lead by a Dash-8 widecab, heads at 40+mph toward Waterloo, Iowa

Thanks to Gerry Doby and Mark Llanuza for a heads up on this one. A semi trailer truck trying to back up the access road under the EJ&E overpass here, averted disaster by about 15 minutes. Knowing this train was coming, and seeing a truck driver blocking Powis Rd, and the tracks while he did a 10 point backup turn was a bit exciting. Luckily men and equipment were all clear by the time this thing went flying thru
