E.F. Boydston built a gas station in 1927. Eight years later he decided to cover its exterior with chunks of petrified wood, perhaps inspired by a similar gas station in Colorado, or by Petrified Wood Park in South Dakota. E.F. evidently had a thing for rocks and used them to cover the exterior walls of his next-door cafe and tourist cabins as well (One of the motor court cabins was supposedly rented by Bonnie and Clyde a couple of weeks before they died).

In 19th century colonial Richmond this service station would have had its counterpart as the town blacksmith and saddlery. When these photographs were taken last summer in January, the weather was cool and dull and tourists were few and far between. It was the quietist I had ever seen the town.

This is the final set of "extras" from the series on Evandale. Next we will start a series on Rural Life.
This abandoned service station, and later a take away shop, is found in one of the back streets of Evandale. There was a time when these full service garages were available every few blocks. Now we have to drive for miles to fill up in self service stations owned in many cases by the supermarket conglomerates.

Whilst at East Midlands Gateway the other week, a pic of 66760 which would work the last ever 4O19 2151 East Midlands Gateway - Southampton Western Docks. This set now forms the new Felixstowe service from East Mids itself. In the background a plane comes into land at East Midlands Airport. (Taken whilst on duty) 6/6/24.

Yeung Uk Road Municipal Services Building (楊屋道市政大廈), also known as Yeung Uk Road Complex, is a multi-purpose municipal building in Hong Kong , located in the old district of Tsuen Wan, New Territories. No. 45 Yeung Uk Road was opened on July 14, 1990. The opening ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Municipal Council , Albert Chan (now a former member of the People's Power Legislative Council) . Facilities in the Municipal Services Building include Yeung Uk Road Market, Yeung Uk Road Sports Center and government offices. Yeung Uk Road Municipal Services Building has a footbridge across Yeung Uk Road , which leads directly to the shopping mall on the first floor of Nina Plaza . Now, Yeung Uk Road Market is managed by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department like the Tsuen Wan Market Building , and cleaning is outsourced to the same private contractor.

One of my favorite catches of the 2022 summer vacations at my family up north.
SM42-349, the last of all SM/SU42 locomotives in PolRegio's fleet in the old Przewozy Regionalne's livery, was deployed for around 3 days in August to run one pair of trains on the Ostbahn between Chojnice and Tczew instead of a Pesa Link, which broke down. Here the evening train can be seen leaving Czersk on the way back to Chojnice, which once used to be called Konitz.
This required me to wake up at 4am to take a train from the tricity to the Ostbahn, spend a whole day there and return back home around 1am the next day, nevertheless I find that it was worth every drop of tear and sweat :).
