My grandparents ran a drive-in diner in northern Wisconsin in the 1960's. In addition to the scratch-made menu, they made all of the themed uniforms my mom and her brothers wore as waitstaff. (They eventually turned the restaurant into a sewing and upholstery shop.) I think I love diners in general and especially heavy diner cups like buffalo china because it's in my DNA to love it. I have far too many odd restaurant serveware pieces, and it's always tough for me to pass up new finds. But this cup is really old, and I think it may have belonged to my Gram. At least I hope it did, since I think of her when I drink my coffee from it.

This is the Nespresso D-90 Essenza that I got for Christmas. Somehow I ended up having to buy a bunch of accessories as well; little things to sprinkle cocoa and sugar and cinnamon, etc. And new serveware that is the right size, because it just wouldn't be right to sip espresso out of a giant mug. Funny how that happens. ;)
There is a pretty cappuccino in front that I just made.
The Nespresso coffee is pretty good; far better than Starbucks, and easy as pie to boot.

My oldest Halloween mug...this thing was in the cupboard for as long as I can remember growing up. Sometimes I worry about using it for fear it may get broken.
