Vi ho già parlato di loro, Milo Isabel e Kenia, ma mentre altri hanno trovato adozione, loro si trovano ancora al Rifugio Ohana di Banda a 4 Zampe Umbria.
Lui è Milo, tenerissimo, gran coccolone, dispensa abbracci gratis a tutti i volontari, senza preferenze! E' sempre di buon umore, anche quando piove, e se sei occupato a fare le pulizie, lui ti propone una pausa, e ti dice: "Abbracciamoci!" Non ci credete? Venite a conoscerlo al rifugio!
Dinner served! I swear the turkey was bigger when I placed it into the oven. I guess I did not account for shrinkage.
So, betcha didn't think I'd come back to this, huh. Ngl, I didn't think I would either, but, well, here we are. Switched over to mecabricks for these, just cos I seem to have the teensiest bit of an addiction to it. So, the Clone war continues, now entering its fifth year. The Galaxy is more divided than ever, and this year is a turning point. The Republic is changing, becoming more like an Empire. With each passing day, the Supreme Chancellor becomes more powerful, tightening his grasp on the galaxy. So, let's delve into the forces at play (L to R):
Senate guards - They don't really impact the story too much, just needed something to edge the main figs. Really happy with how they came out, really like the helmets. They do have faces, so I imagine they would play a role, if only minor. They serve the Supreme Chancellor as body guards, though they are slowly being phased out, replaced by new guards with crimson robes.
Aayla Secura - Won't lie, she doesn't really need to be here. She remained with the jedi faction still loyal to the Republic, leading its troops into battle. Maybe she felt obligated due to her loyalty to her troops, or perhaps her respect for Master Skywalker, who also remained.
The first Sister - A dark and mysterious new player in the war, the first sister moves covertly, like a shadow in the night. Her identity is a mystery, though there are rumours. Most likely, she is a fallen jedi, though which one is disputed. On an unrelated note, Barriss Offee's cell is empty, the former Jedi knight transfered to a more secure prison, though which one is unknown.
Anakin Skywalker - An attempted assassination of the Supreme chancellor by the rebellion (I'll come back to this) left Skywalker grievously wounded. Luckily, thanks to cutting edge Republic medicine and technology, he is rebuilt, stronger than ever, even if it came at a price. with burns covering almost his entire body, he is almost permanently encased in a dark suit, reflecting his inner self more and more. He's angrier too, often brutal in battle. there are rumours among the clones that his eyes turn yellow in battle, and a shadow seems to envelope him as he fights. The war has changed Skywalker, most likely for the worse.
Supreme Chancellor Palpatine -
Though the attempt on his life has left him scarred, his loyalty to the Republic is unwavering. Public support only rose after he survived his brush with death, and he continues to be a very popular leader. He holds all the strings, and has no intention of letting them go, as long as he draws breath.
Admiral Thrawn - After his encounter with Skywalker on Batuu, Thrawn decided to accompany him back to coruscant, even if only to assess the state of the Republic for potential alliance with the Chiss ascendancy. Although he found it in an unacceptable state of corruption and greed, he saw potential. Its military showed promise, the clone army was enticing to say the least. He was entered into the Republic naval academy, and fast tracked to admiralty in just three years. Given his own fleet and flagship, The Chimaera, Thrawn is determined to reforge the Republic Navy, becoming its leader. Some say he even has machinations on the seat of Supreme Chancellor. Though these are just rumours, Palpatine has still taken precautions.
Captain [Blank] - You'd think I'd have come up with a decent name by now, huh. Anywho, this is the same guy from Year four, just with a slightly new look and rank. Not an admiral anymore, just a captain. Still blind though, and with a beard this time.
Commander Cody - Still fiercely loyal to the Republic, Cody remains in charge of the 212th attack battalion, leading them into battle, or commanding them from afar. He's getting older though, and is soon to be commanded, returned to Kamino to train the next generation of clones. Quick not about the armour, Mecabricks doesn't have stormtrooper helmets (weird right), so any PhIII's in the future will most likely be helmetless, unless absolutely necessary.
Commander Appo - After Rex's desertion, Appo took command of the 501st, continuing to fight alongside General Skywalker.
So, that's year five done and dusted. I'll be doing this for all the factions, and maybe one more depending on if I can make it work. As always, please lemme know what you think, and if you'd like to see more. Oh, and also if you can think of any other Jedi that would have remained loyal to the Republic, as I honestly couldn't think of any :D
Built in 1889-1893, this Richardsonian Romanesque Revival-style building was designed by Charles Erastus Colton to serve as Syracuse City Hall. The building is clad in rough-hewn stone with a hipped and gabled roof, roman arched bays, one-over-one windows, a large and tall rectilinear tower with an open belfry and pyramidal hipped roof, smaller cylindrical towers with conical roofs, a front loggia with arched openings and pink granite columns, and oxeye attic windows on the side gables. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Today, the building remains in use as the seat of government of the city of Syracuse, with additional city offices being located in nearby buildings.
The CCTV Headquarters Building in Beijing, designed by Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren of the architectural firm OMA, opened in 2012. This iconic structure serves as the headquarters for China Central Television (CCTV), the country’s national television broadcaster. It houses a variety of facilities, including television studios, offices, and media spaces, and is a key symbol of China’s growing influence in the media and global communications.
One of the most unique features of the CCTV Building is its bold, continuous loop design, which consists of two interconnected towers that form an innovative "crane-like" structure. This distinctive design eliminates the need for traditional support columns, allowing for open and flexible interior spaces. The building’s unusual shape, with its large, cantilevered sections and angular geometry, has made it an architectural landmark in Beijing, representing both China’s modernity and its ambition on the global stage.

Today is ANZAC Day.
Every April 25 in Australia and New Zealand, we set aside the day to remember the fallen in all wars and the sacrifices that were made and are still being made for freedom. Last year in the midst of a National Covid-19 lock down, no public gatherings were possible. People gathered on their front lawns and shared the moment in each neighbourhood. It was special, but so much better to see the several thousand people braving the freezing Dawn Service at the Launceston cenotaph this morning.
I'm posting a few tribute photos this morning, and where better to start than with the Vietnam Veterans Motor Cycle Club. My title says it all really: "They Also Serve". For many years Vietnam Veterans (most of whom in Australia had been conscripts) were treated unkindly. They returned from the front with no fanfare, and often abuse from the Anti-War movement. It took its toll. Post-Traumatic Stress and lack of the sort of care we take for granted these days, led to a shocking suicide rate among veterans.
But these guys are brothers, and they knew how to build their own support networks. One of those was the hugely successful Vietnam Veterans Motor Cycle Club. Of this group I photographed this morning, only the man with the medals actually served. But you see those other blokes, they serve too! Associate members of the association have done enormous good in helping their returned brothers to readjust to life back home. They've been a lifeline in many cases.
To every one of these men, you have my deepest respect.

Gotham's crime as of recent has been on a downward spiral. Can't imagine why. So I picked up TDKR set for my B-day and swapped out the head on the minifig. Now I have 6 Batman 'figs. I've seen much more impressive collections, but this'll do just fine for me. The DKR minifig is also gonna serve as my Justice League Batman. All armored and stuff like in Injustice.
Having served my own dinner there was 1 1/2 l remaining. So, jarred for storage in the fridge. I'm giving a jar to a friend. Best he likes it!
The Bacardi Buildings are a landmark of Midtown Miami and served as the former headquarters of Bacardi USA. The site, located at 2100 Biscayne Boulevard, consists of the Bacardi Imports Tower and the Bacardi Imports Administration Annex, also known as "The Jewel Box". The tower and the annex were constructed in 1963 and 1973, respectively, and in 2018 they were added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The two buildings are located in a plaza at 2100 Biscayne Boulevard. The plaza sits directly above an underground parking garage and features a large painted Bacardi logo, which is visible to planes arriving at and departing from Miami International Airport. Both buildings are accessible from the parking garage via elevators.
The Bacardi Imports Tower, built in 1963, was the first of the two buildings to be constructed. It was commissioned by former Bacardi president José “Pepin” Bosch and designed by Cuban architect Enrique Gutierrez. Azulejo murals by Brazilian artist and ceramist Francisco Brennand cover two of the building's walls giving it the nickname "the blue tile building".
The administration annex was constructed ten years after the tower, in 1973, and was designed by Ignacio Carrera-Justiz of Coral Gables, Florida. It is referred to as "The Jewel Box" because of the colorful hammered-glass mosaic covering its four sides. The Mesoamerican-themed mosaic was designed by German artist Johannes M. Dietz.
Around 2009, Miami citizens began a campaign to label the buildings as "historic". University of Miami professor of architecture Allan Shulman said "Miami's brand is its identity as a tropical city. The Bacardi buildings are exactly the sort that resonate with our consciousness of what Miami is about". In 2007, Chad Oppenheim, the head of Oppenheim Architecture + Design, described the Bacardi buildings as "elegant, with a Modernist look combined with a local flavor."
On April 18, 2012, the American Institute of Architects' Florida chapter placed the buildings on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places as Bacardi USA. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
The Bacardi Buildings have been occupied by the National YoungArts Foundation since 2012.The current Bacardi headquarters are located at 2701 Le Jeune Road in Coral Gables, Florida.

Serves 2:
Whisk 4 eggs with a splash of water, add salt, freshly ground black pepper, and Maggi sauce to taste, a dash of curry powder, and a good dose of turmeric. Whisk occasionally, to make sure the flavours are well blended.
Heat a slab of unsalted butter with a bit of neutral oil (I used macadamia) to keep it from burning, in a large skillet — I used a 30cm (12") non-stick — on medium-high heat, and when the froth is starting to subside, stir in some finely chopped coriander stalks. Let them soften a bit, and then pour in the eggs.
Lift the edges and mush the eggs around, so that they start to cook through. Lower the heat a bit, add whatever you're going to fill the omelette with (I used leftover curried veggies) on the left half of the eggs (if you're right-handed) and spread the filling out evenly. Cover and let the filling warm.
When the eggs are cooked to your liking and the stuffing is warm, flip the other half over the stuffing half. The bottom should be golden brown, but not burnt.
Cut in half and serve on warmed plates, topped with stripes of Sriracha chilli sauce and coarsely chopped cilantro.
