Red damsel fly mating sequence. They really do seem to have quite a lot of trouble getting the abdomen alignment correct. This pair actually started trying on a horizontal leaf and the female just could not get her abdomen past the leaf. I had the time to get my camera whilst the pair eventually decided to try a more sloping leaf.

I was delighted to see the little boy "conducting" the fountain. I was about to ask if he would conduct the whole sequence for me, but his parents called him away as they had to leave.
