The Milky Way over Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge. This 5,000+ acre Refuge is on the Migratory Bird Flyway and is home to over 250 bird species during migration. The glow on the horizon are the lights of Las Vegas, NV, only 90 miles away. This image is 10 images plus 10 dark images stacked in Sequator and edited in LR CC.

Milky Way over the Giant of the Mantiqueira Mountains

Captured on July 27, 2025, Lavrinhas, São Paulo, Brazil

This stunning image of the Milky Way, captured over the iconic Giant of the Mantiqueira Mountains, is the result of meticulous astrophotography work conducted in the early morning hours of July 27, 2025, in the municipality of Lavrinhas, São Paulo, Brazil.

To compose this scene, 145 individual frames were combined, recorded between 2:41 AM and 3:01 AM, using a Canon T5 camera with a Canon 24mm (f/2.8) lens, set to an 8-second exposure and ISO 3200. Final processing and editing were performed with Sequator (for stacking and noise reduction) and Adobe LightRoom (for color and contrast adjustments), ensuring a high-quality, visually impactful result.

Montsec American Memorial under the winter sky

Tracked/ stacked/ blended

IG: @sky_explorer99

For the first outing of this year 2025 I headed to the foot of the American Montsec memorial.

The sky was perfectly clear but the atmosphere still remained saturated with humidity, greatly diffusing the little light pollution present in the Meuse.

When I arrived there I discovered that the monument was still lit so I decided to stand just below the road leading there to take measurements of the sky and then go back up to the monument once the lighting had gone out to take my first plan. I finished acquiring the sky around 10:30 p.m. for the moonrise and the monument is still not extinguished... we had to wait until 12:10 a.m. for the powerful headlights to turn off. I will also take advantage of this outing to test a new filter acquired at the beginning of January, the result of which is very satisfactory.

Qui, o comunque anche a basse latitudini galattiche, l’assorbimento è davvero notevole e induce oggetti lontani come stelle supergiganti, ammassi stellari e galassie a sparire o a rendersi appena visibili, notevolmente indeboliti nonché arrossati.
