This crow perched on an interpretive sign at Lost Lagoon seems to be asking for a handout. They are very intelligent birds so maybe this one can read. Stanley Park, Vancouver, January 22, 2010.

as far as i could remember, these are the polly pocket toys I have kept back when I was a kid. I knew that when I placed my toys in a big box they are either going to be given to others or they will simply get lost or broken. Since these toys are so tiny and they are very valuable to me I kept them hidden. I'm glad that despite the fact that I'm too young to even think about keeping them safe I was able to manage to do so.
Remembering the good old times, I used to think that toys have feeling as well. When I watch Toy Story, it gave me the impression that they are indeed alive and just pretending to be stiff when I'm around. After that I took care of my toys even though I have to let go of some of them. However, these tiny stuff were my "best friends" and I wouldn't want them to be just discarded and be forgotten. So I kept them and until now I still have them.
♥♥♥ They kept me company when I was a kid; and now I'm keeping them.
Maybe the sign should read, "No pets allowed. This is a pool deck, not a poop deck."
The funny thing about this photo is that the instant I took this shot, a man walked past me with his pug.
For more than a year, a handmade “Black Lives Matter” sign beckoned from the window where Shy (joewilcox.com/2019/02/09/the-cats-of-university-heights-s...) typically sunned. My “Cats of University Heights” series (joewilcox.com/tag/cats-of-university-heights/) profiled the kitty in February 2019.
I was relieved to see a new sign in Shy’s window on Oct. 3, 2021. I wonder how this sentiment relates to or derives from “Black is Beautiful”—the half-century-old movement and slogan.
