Another day, another load of rainstorms and wind, if you can't beat it then use it... This was shot in a rainstorm on the Highland coast off Ben More, Just NE of Ullapool, the one real bonus of poor weather up here is that you can usually pretty much always grab something dramatic if you don't mind getting wet and deleting loads of failed shots in the hope of grabbing one or two that you can use....

The hardest part of shooting in this was keeping the lens and polarizer dry every few seconds while trying to not miss the best of the light and colour, plenty of ruined shots with rain but luckily my favourite one of the bunch was totally rain free somehow, you can see how much rain was coming down in the shot..... I could've got a nice dry day to stroll about it but I would never had got this shot, every dark cloud having it's silver lining....

Tears direct from natures eyes

Gathered together on the tree

The romanesque cloister of the former cathedral of St. Lizier.

Saint Lizier (Sent Líser in occitan) is nice old village above the Salat river. It has the really unusual detail of having TWO former cathedrals. I can't really understand what happened, but it seems that in the middle ages it was the seat of a bishop, but with two cathedrals, and all was abolished during the French Revolution. The other (former) cathedral is known as N. D. de-la-Sède.

I was about to take a photo of this tree in the middle of nowhere when the Buick Skylark fell from above...

This is yet another re-edit, by the way. I'm sure some of you can remember this image.

A great spotted woodpecker in Greenwich Park, mid pecking a tree kicking up bark

I saw a pattern in a cut-down oak tree that made think of the wings of a bird with radial lines and rings spreading out from the center. combined with two other photos to create this image.

To send someone to Coventry is an English idiom meaning to deliberately ostracise someone. Typically, this is done by not talking to them, avoiding someone's company, and generally pretending that they no longer exist and turning your back on them. Victims are treated as though they are completely invisible and inaudible. This practice is mostly active in the workplace...!

The origin of the phrase is unknown, although it is quite probable that events in Coventry in the English Civil War in the 1640's play a part. One hypothesis as to its origin is based upon ‘The History of the Rebellion and Civil Wars in England’, by Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon. In this work, Clarendon recounts how Royalist troops that were captured in Birmingham were taken as prisoners to Coventry, which was a Parliamentarian stronghold. These troops were often not received warmly by the locals and completely ignored.

I saw this guy who works at the train yard walking along the tracks.

"Hulog ng Langit" which is written on his shirt means Heaven Sent when translated to English. This was a campaign shirt and it supposedly refers to the mayoralty candidate that gave out these items.

me sento de baixo de uma arvore

Vejo como a natureza é bela

esculto o cantar dos passarinhos

ouço o soprar do vento

no céu tambem o sol brilha intensamente

me irradiando alegria

Obrigada pelas visitas =)

"I like my head attached to me but I also like it floating beside you. Maybe ten inches away. And getting closer all the time. Not that spooky floating, more in a loving way. Where there's plenty of rain pouring from me, so new plants grow. Where little men learn to put away their weapons, and stop sleeping upright in a chimney. Who made the microscopic holographic luminescent ocean? Why's it so much better than the real version in every respect? We did, just now, with our painted lashes. I blink a new one into existence every hour. Whenever we get so closer you feel its last lines brush right through you."
