I had been shut out for 5 nights in a row on this trip and was willing to shoot anything at this point. As I was running around to the different viewpoints on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon looking for some open sky, I rounded the corner along the drive and hit the brakes for a quickie. :) I set up one light panel quickly and snapped 3 shots then jumped back in and off I went. I used a cooler white balance than usual on this one at around 3200. :)

Bateleur Eagles usually come down to the water in the middle of the day.
They are a colourful species with a very short tail which, together with its white underwing coverts, makes it unmistakable in flight. The tail is so small the bird's legs protrude slightly beyond the tail during flight.
Size: The average adult Bateleur is 55 to 70 cm long with a 186 cm wingspan. The wing chord averages approximately 51 cm. Adult weight is 2 to 2.6kg. (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Botswana)

When are we going to learn to live together in peace and understanding? Violence is NO solution. COVID numbers are continuing to rise around the world. So many people are in lockdown and not able to get out, many have been sick and have had loved ones die, and so many, including me, who haven't been able to hug their families since the beginning of this pandemic. And we have no idea when the end is in sight, or if things will ever get back to "normal."
When I saw this little vine wrapped around a post in a nearby garden, I thought of how much all of us need a hug right about now. So I'm sending out a virtual hug to all of you.

It seems to me that global politics have become very negative, which produces more stress and unease. It is time for us to adopt a more positive attitude, positivity creates positivity, negativism does the opposite, so let's try a new line of thought, we will all be much healthier! okay, just sending this up because it's 12-21-12, a date that many have talked about. What will happen? Anything, nothing, subtle, dramatic? I dunno... won't know until it happens, or doesn't...
of course I had lots of thoughts about what to write here, but can I remember now? Nah. Of course not. Been shoveling snow a lot today though, so the brain might feel a little frozen too.

La Senda del Oso es una vía verde en el centro de Asturias, que recorre los Valles del Oso, formados por los concejos de Proaza, Quirós, Teverga y Santo Adriano, que se puede recorres tanto a pie como en bicicleta. Se trata de una antigua vía ferroviaria por donde circulaba hasta el año 1964 un ferrocarril minero que transportaba el carbón desde las localidades de Santa Marina y Entrego, hasta Trubia, en el concejo de Oviedo.
Esta senda transita, en gran parte, por un espectacular bosque atlántico, convirtiéndose en una ruta sencilla, apta para todos los públicos, con un poco de desnivel, siendo un excelente plan para realizar en familia, en solitario o con amigos.
La Senda del Oso tiene aproximadamente unos 30 km de longitud, comienza en Tuñón, en el concejo de Santo Adriano, recorre todo el concejo de Proaza y finaliza en entrego (Teverga) y Santa Marina (Quirós), pudiendo disfrutar a lo largo del recorrido, de varios túneles horadados en la roca, del cercado osero, desfiladeros, etc.
Se debe de efectuar en varias etapas, para disfrutar totalmente de la senda, estas son:
TUÑÓN–PROAZA = 6 KM – PROAZA–CARANGA = 5 KM – CARANGA–ENTREGO = 10 KM Y CARANGA- SANTA MARINA = 13 KM

It marks the end of the month of Vassa, sometimes called "Buddhist Lent." This day marks the end of the rainy season in some Asian countries like Thailand, where Theravada Buddhism is practiced. On this day, each monk (Pali: bhikkhu) must come before the community of monks (Sangha) and atone for an offense he may have committed during the Vassa.
In Bangladesh Buddhist devotees fly Fanush (Hot Air Balloon) to honor Lord Buddha and all the departed soul during the eve of Pavarana Purnima.

Autumn light that illuminates the shells and this piece of fishing net come to get lost on the beach, at the tide of the tides.
I found some light mesh in the garden for this week's theme, the challenge then was how to light it. The t light candle came to mind and I used a reflector to send a little light onto the mesh.
