One of the most majestic waterfalls in Iceland. Even though this place has been shot to death I had to take my own picture of it. I wanted to rise higher to capture the beautiful surroundings of the fall.
When we arrived at theSeljalandsfoss, we where overwhelmed of all the people. At the Laugavegur we were not completely alone, met a few other hiker, but coaches full of people, a car park only for the waterfall and guides, who try to offer extrem SUV adventure tours into the islandic highland, overtaxed us. The situation got worse with the upcoming sunrise. Behind the waterfall it was impossible to catch a place, to take some nice pictures through the water, so we left. At the way back, I got this nice photo of the waterfall in the red light of sunset.
Seljalandsfoss on the South Coast of Iceland bathed in the otherworldly light of the midnight sun. Seljalandsfoss is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland. This spectacular natural wonder drops around 60 meters into a tranquil pool below. Seljalandsfoss has been one of Iceland’s most famous landmarks since travelers started visiting the country. It can easily be visited on a day tour out from Reykjavík and you can find other interesting attractions nearby.
Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland. It drops 60 m and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier
This is a photography of Seljalandsfoss waterfall in Iceland. I took this from a more acute angle than is usually seen.

During my recent photography trip to Iceland, I visited so many incredible waterfalls.
As I traveled throughout Iceland, in expectation of conducting a photography workshop in Iceland next year, I documented everything from sites, distances, hotels, guest houses and hostels, to restaurants, gas stations and more. It was a fantastic but very busy trip.
Here's one of my takes of Seljalandsfoss.

My March 2017 5 day ANP Milky Way & Monument Valley photography workshop
I still have a few slots open for my March and April 2017 Arches National Park & Monument Valley photography workshop. Each workshop is 5 days.
During 3 days of the workshop, I will conduct 4 hours of Milky Way post processing in Photoshop and Lightroom as I did this past March.
If you are interested in attemding, please send me a message. I restrict the workshop to 8 people and do take a look at a few of my Milky Way night sky shots to see how your Milky Way photos can look using my post processing techniques.

Cascata Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss waterfall
The Seljalandsá River falls about 60m from what was once an ocean cliff (now several kilometers away) and which is now the border between the Highlands and the Lowlands.
Among the peculiarities that make Seljalandsfoss one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, that of being able to easily pass behind it, thus being able to observe the waterfall from an opposite perspective.

This was the very first stop on my Iceland photography tour. This is Seljalandsfoss which has a trail that actually runs behind the waterfall. So Cool! Our guide, Tony, told us the best spot to shoot this is from up the side of this very cliff. When I realized the particular cliff he was talking about was roped off, I knew this was going to be a fun trip.

Another shot of Seljalandsfoss, taken just before I took this one wich I posted earlier today, obviously from the other side. Also taken with a polarizer.
Seljalandsfoss is one of Icelands most beautiful waterfalls. The fact that you can walk behind it makes it special.

My take of the classic waterfall just off route 1. Not suprised I shifted over the other side of the road to capture this as you were literally shoulder lifted around by tourists nearer to the fall, but I liked the look of this snaking stream anyway and thought I'd give the usual behind fall shot a miss.
Video of the trip is on youtube(well, bits of it anyway) www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzA51HajHTQ
