Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous and photographed waterfalls in Iceland, most known for being photographed from behind the water. Since I like to go to Iceland in winter, that is never possible: the access to the back is closed due to the snow. This, however, opens up new creative possibilities to portray this amazing waterfall surrounded by icicles and looking like it's digging in the snow. Black & white was a given for this.
Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and filters Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra.
One of the best known waterfalls in Iceland and one of the many stops on my tour!
A 10 second exposure here to capture the smooth movement of the waterfall. Also got to walk behind it which was cool :)
Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls of Iceland. It is a unique waterfall on the river Seljalandsá, about 30 km west from Skógar. It drops 60 metres (200 ft) over the cliffs of the former coastline.
There's a footpath which goes all the way around it, you can walk around it almost without getting wet :)

A 26 second exposure of Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland's most famous waterfalls. These falls can be viewed from behind (the access steps can be seen to the right) but any long exposures are out of the question because of the amount of spray generated by the plunge pool. Thanks for stopping by.
Such an epic location for your wedding photos... I managed to sneak this photo in during their shoot. I first asked their permission of course.
I wanted to try go inside and shot Seljalandsfoss from the inside, but the ice on the ground made it impossible to do it.

The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders in Iceland with a foot path behind it at the bottom of the cliff, but with a thin cascade. It is the only known waterfall of its kind, where it is possible to walk behind it.

In the summer you can walk behind the waterfall, however in the winter it is sheet ice

Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.
This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 66 metres (200 ft) over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is possible to go behind the waterfall.

Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. And for a good reason. It's majestic and whole scenery is breathtaking. I only had chance to photograph it during the midday so it was quite a challenge.
Thanks for looking!
Your feedback is always appreciated ;)
one of the easily accessible yet beautiful waterfalls in iceland. this was shot at around 1am. family shot it from afar and went back to the car to sleep..i decided to venture out behind it. we did see it again the following day but at that time with not a soul in sight i couldn't pass it up. its a wonderful thing to experience this all by yourself.
