I can not begin to tell you how many times my heart has been tricked, fooled, even deceived by someone who once filled my heart with completely different emotions. Call it as you see it like a batteed spouse drawn in by empty souless words only to be viciously punched when the guard was let down by the rising white flag of deceit.

I discovered this amazing place where the evening light comes through the trees. Finally got around to taking some pictures there. I don't know if anyone else will like this, but I'm really proud of it. These are the first self-portraits I've ever taken that I am truly happy with.

Perfection is a ridiculous concept to me.

There is no such thing, and it is certainly not an expectation I hold for myself or anyone else.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not always easy to deal with. Life has put me through the wringer more times than I can count. I’ve been left with scars by people who never deserved access to me, and then there’s the raw-dogging life for forty-plus years with raging, undiagnosed ADHD and a nervous system stuck in survival mode.

So no, I’m not perfect. I overthink, I get overwhelmed, I react from old wounds sometimes. But I think that's why understanding matters so much to me.

We are often too quick to judge or assume things about people when we only see a fraction of what they might be carrying.

You cannot always see a troubled mind, a sick body, or someone barely holding themselves together. Sometimes distance is overwhelm. Sometimes silence is exhaustion. Kindness matters, and so does accountability.

My bad luck follows me to even to Scotland!

Often in life, one must cleanse the soul; undergoing a series of self reflective exercises to uncover the highs and lows pertaining to one's life.
