Mirror, Mirror on the wall. Who's the coolest Fugger around. (Somehow I don't think I'm gonna be happy with the answer.)
FGR for the day was "Self Reflection. What do you see when you look in the mirror?
I'm not a huge fan of self-portraits, but while browsing some old photographs, I've came across this one. It was taken around February 2007, when I was experimenting a bit with a Zenit 11. It's quite the classic shot, I've seen dozens of these on Flickr, yet they're always interesting - it's the same scene, but a different person or camera.

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
And can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Oh oh I don't know, oh I don't know
Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older I'm getting older too
Yes I'm getting older too
~Stevie Nicks
I was listening to this beautiful song today and I started thinking about my life and remembered this old photo. I originally shot it on June 8, 2010 - the 21st anniversary of my high school graduation. Stevie Nicks was specifically talking about a lost love when she wrote the song, but I think the lyrics really apply to all the life changes that we go through. I remember it almost like it was yesterday, but that person I'm remembering isn't me. I barely remember who I was. Who I was supposed to be. Who I could have been. Look at me now. For better or worse, this is who I am. Who will I be in another 21 years? Can I handle the seasons of my life? I don't know.
for 365 and FGR invades self reflection.
Ghosts were never something I put a whole lot of stock in. Then my dad passed away and the weirdest things started happening at my mom's house. It took me a while to actually step across the line and confess to anyone that I believe he was there for a bit after he died. It makes me sound like a crazy lunatic. Maybe it is just wishful thinking? Maybe it was just coincidence? Maybe it was just a way to make myself feel better about missing him so much?
Or maybe he really was there.

No photoshop treatment ( the blurr was due to the car movement and the light was just like that) The mirror wasn't very clean, neither...
Sin retoques ni efecto photoshop. el 'desenfoque' se debe a la mucha luz y al movimiento del coche. El espejo tampoco estaba muy limpio...

I have been working on a BMW Birthday mix cd for someone who used to be a major part of my life, and has now faded to idle chit chat about a dog. I heard a song a few weeks ago and immediatly knew that this year I had to make him a cd. I started with a list, and added and subtracted from that list, I burnt two copies, then immdeiately decided they were not what I wanted.. Who knows what will go on that final cd that gets thrown in the mail just to be slipped through the mailslot of the side door of that houseon Perrot. Whatever it is I am sure it will be a relflection of me, a reflection of how I have (or have not) moved on with my life.

Slightly edited phone cam Selfportrait, shot with the timer of my mobile, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. Taken with my C905 mobile phone. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
Today is my 4th Flickr Birthday, yay! 4 years ago I've uploaded my first shot to Flickr and I never regretted it, manymany good things have happened to me, I've met manymany very nice people online and offline, I've been part of Exhibitions, Museum-events, fashion photo shoots and many other wicked, exciting things because of this lovely website, and I would not want to miss a second of the fun :))
Thank you all so much for making this possible, without you, this would just be another narcissistic, glossy show-off site, a foolish instrument and playground for vain, spoiled people who can't stop posting their ohsopwetty self portraits to the InterWebs, haha ;-D
Have a wonderful day, there's some Champagne over there by the buffet, help yourself!

Why are you always upside down? Just when you think everything is facing straight ahead you end up tilted. The story of my life.

Rediscovering Inner Peace and Strength.
Description:
Hey there, fellow nature lovers. I'm excited to share how I find peace and self-reflection behind a small waterfall. In this serene spot, I contemplate my existence in this vast world. The breathtaking scenery and the calming sound of flowing water always help quiet my mind, bringing me comfort and tranquillity. This waterfall has become my sanctuary, offering me an escape from the busyness of everyday life and a chance to connect with myself truly. Here, surrounded by peaceful nature, I rediscover my inner strength. Come join me in appreciating the world's beauty and setting aside a moment for self-reflection.

((see pic below for where this poor Monarch was before this shot))
After a bit, I took a stick and I broke the spider web and freed the Monarch butterfly from the web. I picked him up and gently removed as much sticky web stuff from him as I could. At first he just lay down on this stump as seen here...but then he started to fly around just a little bit. So I hope he is okay..the 2nd shot of him added to this image, was him up and about walking. The nature center was closing and I prayed the Monarch would survive. However, I began to feel a little bit like maybe I shouldn't have interfered with the ways of Nature...So I think in the future if confronted with similar situation I will not tamper with nature again...
Today is her birthday. She is truly the most beautiful person I know in this world. I was testing out the lighting for some romantic kissing shots, but this one of her came out the best.
This one happened around 2 am, but I'm still going strong. Besides, she'd never let me get away with doing this project for only 3 days.
As former president Teddy Roosevelt puts it...behold it is the "Eighth Wonder of the World." The water originates from underground springs above and at the falls. Even during the dry summer months and at 129 feet in height, the water provides an almost constant flow rate of 100 million U.S. gallons / day. playing with that odd 'double reflection' thing that happens in some windows. taken with canon G12 in low light
summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when September ends
ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when September ends
here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are
as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when September ends

Self - portrait. This is my new stream. Some of you may remember me. I can't seem to stay away. This time around, flickr will be reserved for my best work. I'm not going to post just for the sake of posting anymore. I also won't be adding everyone as a contact just because they added me or commented on my stream. I'm going to be very selective about who I associate with. If you like what you see, by all means comment. If you want to add me as a contact, I ask that you shoot me a message telling me what it is that brought you to me. How did you find me? What is it that you like about my stream? Introduce yourself and I will have a look at your stream and profile.
Thanks.

I believe we all have gifts we were born with. My gift is my hands. I am a massage therapist and can do wonders because of this gift.
This isn't really the shot I wanted, but I couldn't get my desired results, so I just threw this one together.
P.S. There is a cool little (accidental) image in the background that represents us, can you find it?
