I wanted to try and avoid a straight mirror shot for FGR's Self Reflection challenge, but with the bedroom light on you really couldn't tell that I was using the window. Without any light focusing my reflection in the window became really quite difficult, but I persevered and actually quite like how it turned out, so this is SOOC.

Although staring at a reflection of yourself can feel uncomfortable at first, using a mirror is one of the best ways to achieve the realism you desire. But , That’s part of the process, and as you gain confidence with experience over time, the easier it will come to you.

Cactus of Life. A Mirror of truth. Awaken your true self by David Lombrozo, Tania Ordoñez, Pablo Fernandez and Humberto Wong

from: México City, México

year: 2023

Cactus of Life is a sculptural piece that offers a glimpse inside of oneself. The Mexican traditional Tree of Life and the iconic cactus come together as one. Here all are welcome to see themselves as they are, no prejudice. By doing so, all can share a better version of their self with the world.

The first symbol comes from the Mexican artisan tradition of the “Tree of Life.” Made of clay, this tree is adorned with many figures related to different themes such as the sun and the moon.

The second symbol is a cactus, the desert plant that survives harsh conditions and welcomes all beings who come to find life. Cacti also contain psychedelic properties that help the recipient to see inside themselves.

Every now and then it's nice to have a few moments to yourself, especially if it's outdoors.

Another 35mm film photography assignment. It's me in the bathroom mirror myspace style lol. Not exactly your usual facebook/myspace shot though is it? Tried something different by using a flash on "slave" mode and fully exposing myself(hahaha) with the flash, no ambient light since the lights were off in the bathroom.

Photo of me as a fresh soul in this world taken by my proud father 1977.... now years later trying to remain the innocence and dreams of making a difference in the direct world around us. the future of the world is the kids of today, by remembering where we came from we should make a stamp of the world already today!

There's nothing I dislike more than being at the mercy of other people's decisions. This is 2012 and this marks a new begining in my life. I will do the things I love and experience the world and finally be my own person. If you think I'm crazy, I ask you, "What would you do with a day in my shoes?"

Today marks the start of my 365 project :) I will also be completing my abc project simultaneously. Hooray for the New Year :D

This is the first photo in my photo essay. I wanted to draw a lot of influence from the still life artists of the 17th/18th century to explain a little more about myself. This is the area where I spend my time on work or maybe to think on certain things. It's also a place I use to charge my laptop when it's almost out of battery.
