Many of the students at Sarah Lawrence College decorated their mortar boards for commencement. The gowns may have been a traditional black, but even convention cannot deter a creative person from self-expression!

The gentleman in the tie-dye is "painting the music."

I’m hoping the mushrooms on the back of the dragonfly are supposed to represent some sort of symbiosis, but my science brain sees cordyceps (yes, there are dragonfly-specific strain). A pretty and psychedelic image, in any case.

They say we're safer at home, but are we. What if this shelter in place means you're not stuck full time with your abuser? What happens if you depend on things like support groups to handle your recovery? What if you live alone. What if you live alone and you're sick. How bout depression? What if you have depression? What if all this isolation has caused you to develop depression.

We are humans and we need human contact to survive normally, if that's a such thing. When this is removed from long periods of time, what are the circumstances and why isn't anyone coming up with ways to effectively help folks cope with it. I don't mean simply prescribing medication which only numbs a person, not actually help a person. We will not be able to meditate our way out of this.

We've had this cool decorative totem/tiki pole at the house for years. It is a single piece of wood carved into four crouching tiki figures and stands a little over 6' tall.

Not long ago it fell over, broke and I fixed it. I kept in in the garage and now invite people to contribute some paint work any time we were hanging around in Manville. It will always be evolving into something new as people continue to paint on it. My daughter, her friends and a neighbor or two have contributed so far and there will likely be many more to come. This is the first entry for the Tiki Pole Project.

I had this printed 12"x18", looks cool!

Clearly, the theme involves red, but beyond that, I'm not sure how to integrate shorts, antlers and a cape.

The catscan revealed an entity within an entity, slowly devouring the inner environment to make room for its ever expanding body. Consuming the brain cells and surrounding tissue, but for some strange reason avoiding his dirty mind.

A collection of Street Art from New Brighton Park in East Vancouver, BC. This park parallels the waterfront to the West of the Iron Worker's Memorial Bridge. It is nestled beside a grain terminal.

"I'm friends with a monster that's under my bed

Get a long with the voices inside of my head

You trying to save me

Stop holding your breath

And you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy

Well, that's nothing''

- The Monster (Eminem feat. Rihanna)

Is it getting hot in here or is it me? :o)

Some large labels, printed by a computer and adhered to the glass case that covers a public bulletin board. I came home and Googled about half of the references; clearly, these are not the thoughts of a teenager with a magic marker.

i have myself and her 6th grade enrichment teacher/drama coach to both blame and thank for this fearless outbreak of gender blending free form expression. i know a lot of parents who would be phreaking if their daughter shed that "little girl" image and became both "johhnie ringo, king of the cowboys" and some random caricature of a character from an akira kurasawa film all on the same halloween.

bleh. i see that she's mocking boys. that's cool. or she's mocking some packaged idea of masculine behavior. that's cool too. she's trying to understand boys. even cooler. i like it all.

what's not to like about an 11 year old who is more comfortable in her own skin and more confident in herself than some 40 year olds we all know? after a weekend of this testosterone laden girl child, i was happy to have my barefoot girl back this morning. i will say that i spent a very interesting weekend with a cowboy gangster and a ronin samurai warrior. . . .

i suppose the moral is "never be ungrateful"

i'll say that again, never be ungrateful

I received a roses from my prince last week and I kept thing of ways to include my flowers in my shots. This was inspired by: stephcarter

Photograph taken at 06:57am on July 26th 2011 after catching the first morning train up to London Bridge, for a leisurely street shoot on the South Bank in London.

This frame was taken within the skateboard arena on London's South Bank, located underneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall, near the Festival Pier and very much a part of the central London scene. Home to world championships and freedom of expression that is both artistic and refreshing, this vibrant and energetic location has fallen victim sadly to red tape and beaurocratic stupidity which threatens to close it in the near future.
