A first color film with my FOCAsport I D (year 1960) during a tour on the river Saône, north to Lyon, from Albigny-sur-Saône to the Beyne Island at Quincieux, France.
I loaded the camera with a Kodak Gold 200 36-exposure film exposed for 200 ISO. The Neoplar lens was equipped with a FOCA 36mm push-on metal shade hood originally designed for the OPLAR 1:2.8 f=3,5cm for the FOCA Standard camera.
Even if the camera has an opering integrated selenium cell, I used however my Minolta Autometer III with a 10° finder for selective light measurements privileging the shadow areas.

After complete exposure, the film was processed by a local lab service using the C-41 process. I then digitalized the film using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. The RAW files obtained were processed without intermediate files in LR and edited to the final jpeg pictures.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg plus some documentary smartphone color pictures.
About the camera :
Purchased at the annual photographic fair of the Saint-Bonnet-de Mure (Isère, France) Photo Museum on Sept. 9, 2023 my FOCAsport I D is a French 35mm camera manufactured in the OPL (Optique et Précision de Levallois S.A.) factory in Châteaudun, Eure, France in 1960.
The camera is the model-1, version-3 (1960) of the FOCAsport I D series appeared in 1959 and produced in France until late 1962. FOCAsport I D was the a version of FOCAsport camera's with a collimated viewfinder. The lens was a 3-lens FOCA-NEOPLAR 1:2.8 F=4,5cm with an ATOS II central shutter (ATOS was a French company) with 2 leaves limiting a bit the shortest exposition time to 1/300s up to the second plus the B pose. Focusing is obtained by moving the front lens only.
The FOCAsport I D is the Focasport I B with the integration of a non coupled mini selenium light meter Chauvin-Arnoux (France), a French company that still exists today and specialized in the manufacture of measuring instruments (multi-meters etc).
The FOCAsport, ancestor of compact 35mm camera's, were very popular due to their much more affordable prices, less expensive than the FOCA camera's with a focal curtain shutter even in its most basic version (FOCA Standard). They were also sold tax-free in many military stores for soldiers and officiers of the French Army, in France and oversea's.
The camera is in a pristine condition with clear lens and full operating functions including the selenium cell. It came with the original leather ever-ready FOCA bag.
Sometimes I think I'd like any photo that uses Lightroom's selenium preset, so I'm not the most objective judge of this shot. Still, I spent way too long trying to get this sharp while handholding at 1/8th of a second not to post this.
