Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus)
A wonderfully warm Spring day today, although very windy! So while Daniel and Sarah were doing there school work I took a quick walk up to the local football oval.
This pair was busy feeding in the Eucalypts.
Sorry for the lack of viewing and commenting this week, but I've been nursing a stinking cold and an horrendous tooth abcess at the same time, so many antibiotics and painkillers I'm rattling
This lone, I think jenny donkey, was with a herd of horses in South Dakota. I've never seen one with this colouring before.
I have learned to curb my enthusiasm in this regard. Sometimes I see only what I believe. But do I wish to see better, more clearly, more completely, and more independently of my mental settings? Absolutely! And the many eyes I have got now are a great help.
……Took a short walk down to the canal towards Newport for a shot today - very grey & flat light so I thought the canal might provide a bit more interest. Taken on my phone and edited in Lightroom for my iPhoneaday 365 shot of the day. Alan:-)…….

After seeing so many dandelion seedheads in the grass verges, I decided to carefully bring one in and try some still life with one.
I positioned it on a windowsill with natural light from the right and black card behind.
Hopefully I created beauty in what is usually considered an unwanted weed.

..To ride the wind as if a horse.
Through a field of unending time.
You would see me clearly, my love.
Who I was...who I am..who I shall become
You would see ME....and I see YOU.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
When I first saw this little Burrowing Owl standing upright, at it's now very green burrowing hole, it quickly ducked under. I parked the car so I could watch without getting out and when it reappeared barely showing it's head I thought I was 'seeing double' as I shot this image only to find there were two owls.
Thank you for your visit and comments and hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
With only brief breaks in the heavy clouds most of the day, the sun was itching to come out, and when it finally did, it couldn't have shown up at a better time. After trying to pinpoint where I should be, I settled on Holly and hoped for the best. With the train knocking down South Holly, the sky broke, and when L514 came into town, they were doused in the golden glow of sun only 30 minutes from sunset. About 20 seconds after the tail end cleared, the sun went behind the clouds and did not return for the rest of the day.
A very unusual colour, this field in recent months grew a green crop.Following it's harvesting, in recent weeks the remaining stubble appears to have taken on a reddish purple tinge. I am mystified as why this should be the case,I would be interested if anyone as seen anything similar or knows the reason for this unusual colour.
An incredible reflection of a bridge on the Douro River in Portugal. The water was very still and provided a wonderful opportunity.
On the way back to my car I couldn't resist the opportunity of the large windows and the reflections. Sometimes the light is just right to capture a image as people pass through the alley. Great to be back out taking in the scenes as they unfold. Have FUN !
Just in the last week or so the butterfly bush has started blossoming. I was very happy to see the monarch stop by! An added bonus with the small bee in flight, honing in on the fragrant blossoms. Patience was required with the blustery breezes blowing and the butterfly flitting between different blossoms.
This bush is in our yard so I look forward to seeing what other visitors might stop by!
