A small flock of Short-billed Dowitchers enjoyed a pitstop at a local pond in early May. They were here for a brief stay - to rest and refuel before embarking on their next leg of migration to their breeding grounds further north in the subarctic tundra.
It's a delight to watch them feed and probe their bills - 'sewing machine' style - into the mud for aquatic insects.
I am glad that I was able to capture some shots of these three individuals in which their eyes were visible and their feeding positions were synchronized.

Thank you very much for the visit and comment.
As lovely a view as this is, I'm certain that the farmer would prefer to look out on a green foreground from his pea crop rather than one dominated by the red of poppies!
First poppy field I've seen in ages - and it's only about 3 miles from home.

Seeing one of these handsome birds is always a thrill, particularly as I never see them where I live, in rural Suffolk. The colours are just stunning, aren't they?
This bird was photographed on Cavenham heath.
Autumn doubles the colors of the autumn foliage of the trees by reflecting them in the channel, it's like seeing double.
Thank you very much for the kind comments and faves, much appreciated!

This wooden carving has stood on our living room shelf for a long time now! Depending on lighting it can look either angry or calm, this is definitely on the lock down angsty side!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends!
Today is a blue day at Color My World Daily Group and we see double at the fabulous Looking close on Friday Group (the theme is two).
And when we talk about double or two, I always think about vision… Maybe it is all that gin & tonic I had… Makes me see double…. Or maybe I need new glasses ? I have to admit, my last pair of glasses is my worst one so far… I can barely see anything on my phone, and reading a book is sooooo much better without my glasses lol or maybe, just maybe a miracle happened and I don’t need glasses anymore ?
Some have suggested that maybe the water in my pool is affecting my vision… apparently eyeballs don’t go well with chlorine …
All those questions without answer are my inspiration for seeing double and celebrating my two eyes… which are a little bit reddish and feel a bit odd after spending a few hours in a pool without wearing any googles…I had no choice: I must “babysit” my kids in the pool !!!! This is my inspiration behind my picture.
See (!!) you soon my friends and have an amazing day !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

Looking north west towards rain showers from our hotel on the eastern shore of Osoyoos Lake. We spent a few days visiting wineries in the south Okanagan for our 30th anniversary.
Taken early one morning on our recent road trip at Lakes Entrance. These 2 swans were preening themselves and I have to wait for the right moment when both lifted their heads up. You could still see the down feathers stuck in their beaks.
