Security guards have taken to harassing SLR photographers which in todays world of phone cameras is right daft. Soon everyone will have at least one story to tell of an over ambitious security guard who does not know the legal rights of photographers.

We were walking up Campbell Street in Georgetown's Chinatown district. This street contains several jewellery shops that deal in gold. In our group there was a three-year-old boy. We passed a security guard who put a hand out to give the child a 'five'. The boy didn't quite get it right so I stopped to show him how to do it. I wasn't even thinking about the stranger project but his Mum said to me, 'This guy—for your strangers.'
Hey, yeah. Why not?
I asked if I could take his photograph and put it on the internet. He was happy about that. Like my previous two strangers, he didn't have internet so was not able to check out his photo or the project for himself. In the photo he is trying to look serious to fit his role but actually he was a friendly guy who smiled a lot except when the camera was pointed at him. I asked his name and he pointed to his name tag which simply stated 'Wahar'. Don't know if that is his personal or family name. While he liked to chat his English was only basic.
He was carrying a gun which he assured me was loaded. I took a couple of pics trying to get the gun in the picture. I've added one in the comments below but I prefer the one without the gun as it shows his face more clearly.
During our chat I learned the following about Wahar: He is 65 and unmarried. He was previously in the Malaysian army and proudly showed me a photo of himself in uniform and with a guard dog. He and two colleagues guard a row of jewellery shops in Campbell Street.

DPAC takes coffin full of messages to ATOS HQ - 29.08.2012
As the rest of the country waited for the evening's Paralympic Games opening ceremony to begin, activists from DPAC, WinVisible and the Direct Action Network (DAN) delivered a coffin to the doors of ATOS Origin's Headquarters, with messages from the relatives and loved one of sick and disabled people who have been through the French IT company's much-reviled Work Capability Assessment and who were all taken off the benefits which made their lives both possible and bearable, and who all died or committed suicide shortly afterwards.

When my travel companion and I arrived in Lviv for the World Cup qualifying match between Ukraine and Georgia back in 2004, it was pretty much an armed fortress. It seemed like every military police unit in the country was waiting at the train station when we arrived (and we were actually questioned by a couple of them and played dumb to the fact that we were about to get scalped tickets for the match).
Similarly there was a pretty high security presence inside the stadium (which was a bit odd since the place was about 95% Ukraine supporters and 5% neutrals and Georgia supporters).
In fact, there were even military who got in for free just in case they were needed as backup. The night went off without incident. And while people were coming in there wasn't even much confusion so security had a lot of free time.
Here one particular security agent stands around smoking a cigarette. Everyone inside the stadium was smoking it seemed.

The Hoochie coochie MANcunian, He's doing his best to keep the blues Live. He plays a Fender Stratocaster natural. He was being asked / told to move along because somebody complained that he was playing too loud. Trading standards personnell and a private security firm and three police officers were jeered at for stopping him from playing, saying that a nearby music shop was making more noise with their own in store music than he was.
