As soon as the security guard spotted me walk up to the 'caution' tape and saw my camera, he notified me that I'm not allowed to take pictures of the building. I should print this out and give it to him.
A day at the races. Waiting for the horses to exit the stables and enter the parading area. Next Saturday is the big one. Wellington Cup day. Trentham Race Course.
Let me introduce the most multi-role person you will hear about today.
Habibur Rahman is a former soldier who retired from Bangladesh Army as a sergeant. Now he is a security commander at Social Islami Bank Limited headquarters situated at the tallest structure in Bangladesh. He is also the Muezzin, curator, and an occasional Imam of the bank’s central Masjid.
Due to multiple titles and names by many ranks of the organisation, his name has been now simplified to “Habib Bhai”, which is “Brother Habib” in English.
Habib bhai was trimming his beard this morning when I paid a visit at the Masjid. His candid profile as well as the meticulous light (masha Allah) kind of drove me to draw my phone out of pocket like a silent assassin does with his gun after finding the target. And what you see is the moment when he noticed after a few shots that he got company despite an oversize me within a yard. No, I don’t doubt his military instincts.

Cincinnati Comic Expo at the Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. This guy was in an appropriate costume for providing security for the event. He was doing duty at the door checking that people trying to enter had paid. Translated: he was keeping out people like me who hadn't paid.
He had military appearing garb, what looked like a bullet proof vest and a realistic looking fake rifle - perfect for the job.
I wonder if "parking off" in the office is allowed? A fun test morning with the folks from Kameraz, a Johannesburg photography retailer, and Fujifilm South Africa, to try out some of their "X"-series cameras at the Johannesburg Zoo. A security guard enjoying a mid-morning nap. No parking in front of the office, but "parking off" clearly not a problem.
It is seven fifty AM on a bright and sunny morning. Ten more minutes to go before Clyde will be done with his shift. He knocked off the last of the donuts. Panic attack! What if his relief man did not show up? It would not be the first time that he was tardy. One time he game in three hours late. What is rule # six on the Watchman List of duties? Do not leave your post until properly relieved. Screw overtime. Clyde paced the loading dock deck and inhaled Pell Mell and wished that he was in the sack. At seven fifty nine AM Lodi Elkins arrived and assumed the day watch. Clyde M. Brewer was relieved.
This truck is either a Peterbilt 325, 330 or 337. Nothing too unique about it but I do like the black wheels. Of course the license plate has numbers but I erased them for obvious reasons. This truck has self-inflating run flat tires and bullet resistant glass according to GardaWorld's own website.
This guy was the security guard at one of the ad agencies I freelance at in London, the building is on Eversholt Street just nearby to Euston Station, there were quite a few businesses based here that mostly dealt with the dark arts of advertising, marketing and design. It looks as if he's plugged in in the photograph, it would be nice to say that I was eagle eyed and framed him to appear just so, but alas no I noticed this happy surprise after getting the film developed at Metro Imaging on Great Marlborough Street. Metro have since moved over Clerkenwell way, such is film's demise. I underexposed the shot by about two stops and it took quite a lot of work to salvage this pic, but hey at least it's better than nothing.
A common scene in Banasree, which can be described as "Kids are playing on the roads in front of their home and security guard is watching over them. "

Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said "baby can't you see
I wanna be famous, a star of the screen
But you do something in between"
"Baby, you can drive my car
yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you"
I told that girl that my prospects were good
And she said "baby it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time"
"Baby, you can drive my car
yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you"

This guy and his son got to Lake Maury at the same time as me. They had just unloaded their Kayaks when a park security truck pulled up and told them they could not kayak on the lake on weekends - only boat (no gas powered boats are ever allowed on the lake). The gentleman was pointing out that not one boat was on the lake and that he has kayaked on the lake many weekends. The security guard still held steadfast and would not let them in.
I took more shots than this in The Square, but a security guard made me delete them before I left. Including shots I took of Albert Street Car Park.
Have lost them as I later took more shots somewhere else (didn't think to switch memory cards).
He was ok with these ones as they are not architectural.
He says you need to contact the manager of the site during the week to get permission. Also says it because of terrorists. As if terrorists would attack this place!
I'm not going to go back and retake those lost shots.
I have downloaded something to check the card, but think I overwrote the losts files. This hasn't happened to me before!

A sidewalk story, "found" on 8th Ave. in Midtown.
The title is borrowed from the ad, which is displayed on the back of a phone booth. Although rather silly and mostly incomprehensible, the ad's slogan somehow seems to go with the photo!

Photo created with a kindle fire tablet, without the benefit of either camera or computer. (My computer is down.) I have a rather substandard internet connection at home and the recent «improvements» made to flickr make it impossible for me to view anyone's photos individually. This means I cannot read titles or descriptions, nor can I comment or "fave" anyone's photos. Given this sorry situation, I can only say please feel free to ignore the photos I post, as I cannot reciprocate. Thanks for your understanding!
