Muhammad Hosni Sayyid Mubarak the 72 year old President of the Arab Republic of Egypt who assumed the Presidency in 1981 following the assassination of President Anwar El-Sadat, himself surviving six assassination attempts, defended in a televised address his use of security forces to control thousands of Egyptian protestors who had gathered and battled lines of riot police. Mubarak claimed in the address that it was his job was to protect the nation from chaos, however the initially peaceful chanting of the protestors turned violent with the state closure of Facebook and Twitter. More than 30 alumni and spouses from the 366th Security Police Squadron K9 visited Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, May 5, for what would be their final reunion tour. The former 366 SPS K9 handlers had served together in Da Nang, Vietnam, many having met their spouses prior to their service there. The trip to the 37th Training Wing included a visit to the 341st Training Squadron, the Transportation Security Administration, the Security Forces Museum and the U.S. Military Working Dog Teams National Monument. The 343rd Training Squadron held the 15th Annual Fallen Defender Memorial Ruck March on Nov. 4, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas. The purpose of the event is to honor all Security Forces members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Over 2,000 participants marched 4.76 miles, which inlcuded personnel from the 343rd TRS, Bexar County Sherriff's Office, San Antonio Police Department, Gold Star Families, JBSA-Lackland mission partners, and other units from around the world.

Kenya police stage a colour passout ceremony once a year at Kenya Police training college in Kiganjo, Nyeri town. As usual, this year the ceremony was graced by President Mwai Kibaki. Over 1500 police recruits have been trained and will be deployed in various stations all over the country.
