OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – Lt. Col. Mitchell Maddox, 55th Mission Support Group deputy commander, gives opening remarks in front of the extensively remodeled K-9 kennel prior to the formal ribbon cutting and tour, Nov. 18. The 1.3 million dollar renovation comes well equipped giving the dogs a 10x14 space with private dog house, heated floors, separate isolation kennels for sick dogs and other medical treatment just to name a few of the modern amenities. The 55th Security Forces K-9 section is responsible for searching over 3000 vehicles a year, securing 54,000 people and 9 billion in assets.
