PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan – U.S. Army Sgt. Terrance Ray provides security while on a mission in Orgun in Afghanistan’s Paktika province, April 11. Ray, a native of Bennettsville, S.C., is a member of the security force element for the Paktika Provincial Reconstruction Team’s Orgun detachment and was on hand to provide security for the PRT’s civil affairs team during a key leader engagement as they discussed the village’s most pressing needs and concerns. Paktika PRT is a joint effort whose mission is to help legitimize the government of Afghanistan through development, governance and agricultural initiatives. Colorado National Guard members provide roving security patrols, to assist with the enforcement of road closures July 4, 2018, through Huerfano County, in support of the sheriff, to safeguard travelers and to protect the homes in the evacuated areas. The team arrived and began operations July 2. Other teams support traffic control points through the evacuated communities.
The CONG has supported the Spring Fire since July 1, 2018, providing capabilities to include: security personnel for traffic control points and roving patrols; two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crews and aircraft each equipped with aerial water buckets; geological information system operators; as well as, refueling crews with Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical refueling trucks and firefighters with HEMTT firefighting vehicles.
The CONG has been providing an aviation search and rescue standby capability in support of the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center since July 1. The High-Altitude Army National Guard Aviation Training Site facility in Gypsum, Colorado, is supporting the mission which is rapid response to aviation search and rescue missions, primarily for firefighter safety, in support of multiple wildfire responses throughout Colorado.
On order of the Governor, the standing Joint Task Force - Centennial commands and integrates CONG forces to support civil authorities in assisting Colorado, or supported states, during times of crisis and disaster, to save lives, prevent suffering, and mitigate great property damage.

The 343rd Training Squadron held the 15th Annual Fallen Defender Memorial Ruck March on Nov. 4, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas. The purpose of the event is to honor all Security Forces members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Over 2,000 participants marched 4.76 miles, which inlcuded personnel from the 343rd TRS, Bexar County Sherriff's Office, San Antonio Police Department, Gold Star Families, JBSA-Lackland mission partners, and other units from around the world.

The director of the Mehtar Lam hospital makes a phone call to have a team of specialists meet with the Laghman Provincial Reconstruction Team Aug. 24. The PRT visited the hospital for the first time since arriving in July and used the visit to ensure they had enough supplies, and medical personnel o the staff.
