Senior Airman Joshua Newbrey, from the security forces squadron is training a K-9 unit German Shepard named Asko at an obstacle course on base, on 07 May. The objective of this specific training is to teach the police dog controlled aggression by simulating obstacles for the dog to maneuver through and overcome. Some of the missions this training is used toward is building searches and fleeing suspects.

The 343rd Training Squadron held the 15th Annual Fallen Defender Memorial Ruck March on Nov. 4, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas. The purpose of the event is to honor all Security Forces members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Over 2,000 participants marched 4.76 miles, which inlcuded personnel from the 343rd TRS, Bexar County Sherriff's Office, San Antonio Police Department, Gold Star Families, JBSA-Lackland mission partners, and other units from around the world.

Airmen and Soldiers of the Massachusetts National Guard take a photo they respond together to help their communities during the COVID-19 response. Mahnaz Mohammadi the 36 year old Iranian filmmaker has been secretly arrested In Tehran by unidentified security forces. Mohammadi a prominent women’s rights activist is being held incommunicado without warrant, legal or family access. Mohammadi directed an award winning short documentary ‘Women without shadows’ depicting the women living in an Iranian state run shelter for the homeless. The film has been in high demand at several international film festivals, and she was due to appear at the Cannes festival in May until her passport was seized preventing her appearance. This is Mohammadi’s third arrest by the regime in the past four years, the first involved a peaceful protest at a Teheran court, and the second while in attendance at cemetery to lay a wreath on the grave of sniper victim. Lt. Col. Randy Kehn, 140th Wing comptroller and commander of Task Force Joint Reception, Staging, and Onward Integration, briefs Colorado National Guard members about their role and the benefits details of State Active Duty status. The members will provide traffic control points and roving security patrols, to assist with the enforcement of road closures July 3, 2018, through Huerfano County, in support of the sheriff, to safeguard travelers and to protect the homes in the evacuated areas. A particular sensitivity addressed in the briefing was regarding their authorization, provided by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, to be armed and serve in a law enforcement role.

 

The CONG has supported the Spring Fire since July 1, 2018, providing capabilities to include: security personnel for traffic control points and roving patrols; two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crews and aircraft each equipped with aerial water buckets; geological information system operators; as well as, refueling crews with Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical refueling trucks and firefighters with HEMTT firefighting vehicles.

 

The CONG has been providing an aviation search and rescue standby capability in support of the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center since July 1. The High-Altitude Army National Guard Aviation Training Site facility in Gypsum, Colorado, is supporting the mission which is rapid response to aviation search and rescue missions, primarily for firefighter safety, in support of multiple wildfire responses throughout Colorado.

 

On order of the Governor, the standing Joint Task Force - Centennial commands and integrates CONG forces to support civil authorities in assisting Colorado, or supported states, during times of crisis and disaster, to save lives, prevent suffering, and mitigate great property damage.
