... in the city of the Seahawks. I saw this resident osprey several times on the same perch by Puget Sound, north Seattle.
An image to celebrate my state, and it's amazing natural grandeur. Mt. Rainier bathed in a new day's first light is one of our grandest sights.
In addition, a salute and accolades to our team, The Seattle Seahawks. They are again representing the Pacific NW and western Canada in the Super Bowl. The 12th fans are ready to roll.
I've been a Seahawks fan since the team began in 1976. So this is a big weekend for me and my family. Friends and family are gathering at our home this weekend for the Super Bowl. I will subsequently be busy and offline for the next few days. Let the fun begin.
I respect the Patriots. I've rooted for them in past Super Bowls. But not this year. The Seahawks will have to play their best to prevail over their balanced and highly skilled team. Defense generally decides the game though so we should have a good chance.
May it be a fairly called game. And may the best team win.
Go Hawks!
Hope you have a Super weekend as well!
I captured this image during a Seahawks vs Raiders game. I was sitting in the grass watching the clouds transform into what looked something like a lava lamp! All of a sudden I noticed a flash way in the distance. I began messing with my camera settings hoping to get it to bulb without over exposing everything. Once I was dialed in I kept my eyes locked and my finger on my remote trigger! Time after time I kept guessing when it would happen and after a couple failed attempts I got it! I saw maybe 9 strikes total and captured 4 photos of one. Felt doubled stoked as the Seahawks won this game. Thanks for checking it out.

Seattle is in a state of celebration after defeating the Packers last Saturday and punching their second ticket to the Super Bowl. The skyscrapers around Seattle have blue and green lights on them and the Space Needle is no exception.
Here the Space Needle is proudly flying the "12th Man" flag high above the city. This was taken from Kerry Park in Queen Ann. The fun part about this shot was I was strategically positioned between two Wisconsin television stations that were broadcasting live back to Wisconsin. It was around 8:00pm our time and thus time for the 10 pm news in Packer Land. The news personalities were very good sports as many of the people there at Kerry Park that evening were Seahawks fans. They did tell us all that it was the first time they had ever been to our beautiful city.
This is a combination of three exposures merged and tonemapped in Photomatix. I cooled down the temperature and sharpened a bit in Lightroom as well as did some noise removal.
Thank you for your views comments and faves. I appreciate them. I have been out and about taking pics this January but have not had a lot of time to post yet.

I'm still trying to find a tug boat for a friend of mine, no joy, but I did find Mount Rainier taking a peak at the Seahawks flag...... :-) Go Hawks!
