The distinctive indoor space with the undulating glass-and-steel canopy is the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
These two museums share the historic Old Patent Office Building. The courtyard was enclosed in 2007 with a wave-like roof designed by the British architectural firm Foster & Partners. It’s one of the most beautiful indoor public spaces in Washington DC — filled with natural light, trees, and seating. The space is often used for events, concerts, and quiet relaxation between gallery visits.

Bar in the Celebrations Hall at Real Tesoro Bodega, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
There’s a lot of visual weight in this corner of the house, and it all centers around this magnificent fireplace. The stonework is beautifully carved, and it feels both monumental and delicate at the same time. The main body of the mantle is white, with subtle hints of pale pink and soft gold woven into the details. The columns flanking the hearth are wrapped in climbing floral motifs that twist their way upward, and you’ve got carved human figures—small, sculpted busts or cherubs—tucked into the bases and corners, giving the whole thing a wonderful sculptural quality.
But what really steals the show right now is the holiday decor. The mantel is draped with a thick, lush garland of deep green pine. It's heavily decorated with shiny gold and rose-gold baubles, and interspersed with large, frosted white flowers that look almost like magnolias or poinsettias. And then you’ve got those cascading gold bead tassels hanging straight down in long, shimmering strands, catching the warm light from the room and adding a bit of playful movement to an otherwise very solid, heavy piece of architecture. The dark, arched hearth sits quietly below, protected by a simple, curved metal fire screen that keeps the focus on the beautifully carved mantle above.

The westernmost part of the new B concourse extension in Denver, I caught this just as the sun set behind the Front Range of the Rockies some 20 miles behind me. With almost nothing but straight lines visible, the new extension appears somewhat "offset symmetric" and extension includes the first outdoor patio/sitting area airside at the airport: Two fire pits are noticeable, and for sharp-eyed viewers not only will you find four peeps on patio but there's also a driver in the left-most deice truck next to shed four :)

Former Go North East Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties, S912FVK, is now converted to an eaterie serving Vietnamese Street Food going by the name of Hanoi 75.
The bus is based at 'Hatch', Manchester’s award winning food, drink and retail destination. A place to shop, eat and drink, 7 days a week with over 30 independent traders.
This shows the upper deck, which has been converted to a seating area. We enjoyed a bowl of beef strips with noodles on board. Recomended.
